That is the case already : spend a fortune, buy lots of cards, be more powerful : its the old 'coiners' debate : thing is, these games dont run for free ; server space costs real money : bandwidth used costs real money : even collecting the real money costs real money : mastercard/visa/paypal are not charities, they charge a %.
There are 'free' online games : if you dont mind lots of annoying pop-ups and adverts all over every page : there are subscription-only online games ; where you pay per week : but one thing is pretty clear : most every one of them has a 'premium' element where those who pay real money can gain real advantage. I can think of only a handful which are truly 'free' and still worth playing. thats the other thing, if the game is worth playing, its worth supporting as well, with real money.
And why not, we dont expect the bar owner to work for free, nor the cafe owner, nor the taxi driver, I rather suspect you dont work for free either.
