Ingredient voodoo

Ingredient voodoo

Crow's Head
(Uncommon)
Can't be cast

The cut off from the crow's body, said to be symbol of good luck.

Adds luck to a voodoo.
Eg.
Normal : 50% chance to duplicate
Legendary : 80% chance to duplicate

Description : Used in creating Legendary voodoo only, has no other use.

Vampire's Blood
(Rare)
Can't be cast

Extremely rare as not much Vampires are left. Said to have magical properties.

Adds extra effects on to a voodoo.
Eg.
Normal : Effects only one fleet
Legendary : Effects all target player fleet

Description : Used in creating Legendary voodoo only, has no other use.

Just some basic few ingredients, thought it would be a good idea to add voodoo that are used for only voodoo creation.

This makes no sense, why would they not just be ingredients.
However I am not opposed to special ingredients, depending on how the hut develops.
If you have these unusual ingredients, and I don't not believe odd ingredients have yet been ruled out,
how are they acquired?

We don't need cards without effect. There are plenty of cards WITH effects we can use as ingredients.

If, for some reason, we want additional ingredients, I suppose we reopen the "Gems" idea. Otherwise I think the only necessary ingredients for legendary voodoo should be existing voodoo cards, possibly adding some gc or credits as well.

Have a few ideas,
From missions

Can be bought from witch doctor or found in daily presents.

Can be traded like normal voodoo.

Also, I think unusual ingredients would need their little segment which shows common, uncommon and rare ingredients similar to that of voodoo.

daily present would just further reduce the chance you get a card you want,
unless is is a special gift of its own that comes each day if you own a hut

If you can buy them how would rarity be controlled. unless they are sold in boosters like cards. That might work.
but is should be a totally separate from regular cards

I do agree with different ingredients having rarity
and if they are sold on a market as I think they should be, I would like to see it be an exchange system similar to the credit market.

Missions could also work

I will say that Captain Jack has said that crafting Legendary cards can include "ANY" Ingredient. I took this to mean anything in the game currently.

Voodoo Cards, Resources, Gold Coin, Gold Bars, Ships, Crew, Fame, Influence, Your Wife.... Just to name a few.

I think it would be great to include something other then just Voodoo cards, Like ships as no one has purposed an idea like this yet.

10-1 odds it will be Guelere that does first though. ;)

While I dislike the idea of just "freely" giving away worthless voodoo cards.

I do like the idea brought up by Haron which states the use of "Gems". I think it would work perfect with crafting.

Quite a few ideas were tossed around involving gems,
- gem mining
- a very complicated idea from Grimrock that involved not only multiple types but also grades
- I suggested gems won by NPC tasks such as a mission where you chased a boss down an won a battle and then could be stolen by other players.

If I am not wrong, I was also the first to suggest the use of gem stones, but that got quickly buried by other gem stone suggestions.

-1 Cards that have no use but for Legendary Card Creation are useless. Also you need to, at minimum, define what the card does to the recipe. You can't leave how it effects a recipe open ended and expect to get a positive take on the suggestion.
