cheaper than giving them 15 credits and buying a Commandeer card in the auction... I like it but it will never fly for that very reason.

It's not going to happen I can tell you that. It can be seriously abused. One example. I send you a sotl which I then Ravage and Ambush leaving you with no money in no time. It also makes Generosity useless.
