New Card: Ransom note

Ransom note

Type: Rare

Turns: 8

Select one of your ships. Ship loses a level.

Steals one random officer from target player.

This card combines assassin with bribe. But, to make it less overpowered, you must select a ship to be damaged so that it isn't a 100% gain.

This card would make a quicker way to have revenge on an enemy while actually gaining a little bit.

The thinking is that with a good amount of officers, they become really expensive. So a card like this would help exchange something like a ship level for a new officer.

It also does not have to be a hostile curse. Players could use it for trading. For instance, if a player needed an officer, but the hiring rate was 1M gc, they could make a deal with a player who had a lower rate - say 500K. The first player could cast ransom note on the other and select a low-end ship to level down. Then the player who cast could pay the second player an amount in between the two rates. In this case that could be 750K, but it really would be up to the players.

Any thoughts? Suggestions?

What would you suggest? Should it sink the ship instead? It's not "free", it just combines two currently existing cards.

-1, this is two already existing cards combined for no purpose, at the sake of a ship level on top.

Not necessary.

Officers are expensive for a reason. They are practically free up to 200, but after that you need to pay for them. This should not change as it protects guys like CDV from fleeting his 18,000 ships.
