That would be awesome. And people who did the most damage should get gamer Swag attached to their account somehow.

Badass Swag prize/concept.

Whoever does above a certain line of damage, say 5-20% damage to the Kraken, gets a special 1 time voodoo card.

Leviathan Slayer X, expends X turns during your upkeep for the entire week or whatever that this voodoo is in effect.

Players with a Danger Rating X or Lower are unwilling to attack your fleets.

Duration- Long Period of Turns, maybe 1 Week?

and the card reappears in your inventory but is marked as spent, sort of as a Trophy for the quest/Put it on their Profile or something.

Classy Flavor Text: Only the bravest dare attack the one someone brave enough to kill the monster.

O yea, and make X the damage percentage done to the Krakken.

There has to be a risk to justify the awarding of a Leviathan Slayer badge or trophy It costs +1 danger rating to attack the Treasure Fleet while hunting the Kraken. This would give the award reason to exist and fellow Leviathan Slayers are exempt from any inability to attack one of his fellows.
I hope That this will give Leviathan enough meaning so that we can stop using voodoo to enslave the creature to our will.

None of you other Leviathan Haters want to say anything about a better use for the creature?

Make it into like a noble quest. The Krakken is rushing around attacking anyone with at least 1 danger rating, then traveling to another random port. You enter the quest page right, and you can see everyone else participating in the quest. You can see how much damage you have done, and also whoever's doing the most damage to it. You could charge entry fees for a quest that awesome.

Also make the krakkens critical strike taking a lvl away from the fleets strongest ship. or something also creative.

Great Leviathan Hunt... allll riite

Do a 1 million dollar option with a 1 percent chance of killing him. Whoever kills him gets a 100 million gold and a man of war.

Edit: There should be a limit to how many times you can enter per day though.

Complaining about a lack of realism in a voodoo card is kinda silly Ms Panda...

Speaking as a new player, specifically to the other cards mentioned...Time Spiral, Booty Master, and Swarm of worms and as a new player who has acquired a couple of these cards.... The booty master is perfect for a new guy to hit up one of you people making millions in a day, no? How else can I get started catching up with you billionaires? Time Spiral...so what? Lose 4-7 turns? Swarm of worms would also be a pretty killer retaliation I imagine.

Zombie jesus wrote:Hollywood. The problem is not new players using Leviathan to take revenge on medium players and big players. That would obviously be whiny sour grapes. The problem is that that same little player cant hassle players bigger then them because there is an enormous chance that the bigger player has a mountain of Leviathan in their inventory, and can afford to one-boat virtually anyone noobish, and do critical damage to a medium player... this mutually assured destruction scenario doesn't encourage conflict at all, and that's stupid, cuz it's an online game.. about pirates. pirates by design were people who robbed the big guys and then fled from the consequences their whole life... if the European navies had had a magic button which could blow up any pirate boat they heard about attacking their ships, the golden age of pirates wouldn't have even happened.

as if that isnt bad enough, it gets even worse. the big players, and especially the ones putting money into the game end up massing up huge stockpiles during the extended periods of inactivity. and that restarts the cycle even further discouraging activity in the game.

there are lots of business simulators out there, -don't mention other games- has been pro at this for awhile... but this isnt a pirate game, this is a game with PIRATE in the title, it should be possible to BE a PIRATE in this game.

From what I've seen so far.....I agree completely about this not being a pirate game. It's more you're someone who owns a trade company, hire little people to do the trading and actual work, and that's a management game? I like that there is trade-but the way the game is basically focused on letting automated trade build you up and up....what's the point of that way? Give us more combat! And that means new players or else the game will shrink. If leviathan is akin to the old rich players sitting on a stack of nukes, then lose it in favor of more cards like booty master and swarm of worms that hit the old fat cats harder than a new player.

I'm really liking this cool idea of a mission/quest thing where all sorts of players get together and hunt down the leviathan or kraken.(different creatures, and not the same) Maybe it appears when a card is used to more or less randomly ravage the seas, and has to be hunted down or it continues attacking all it comes across. You could make the card only able to determine where it is originally summoned, thus it is somewhat of a targeted attack to start with, and after that it just runs wild, so you wouldn't have the insane nuclear beatdowns with it and it can hurt your own fleets. Also probably want to make it a rarer card, with a limit of how many on the sea at once(1?) and a cooldown timer in between summonings. What do you think?

ah, but the devs want a realistic and historically accurate game....and there is nothing historically accurate about this thing, and if the defense about this card is related to 60 attribute sols, put a limit on master craftsmen to lik 55 so theres still room for some strategy
