Treasure Feature Questions

I love the treasure feature as currently is, but I would like to suggest some tweaks or possible changes. First though, I have a few questions:

It seems that if I spend enough turns I could my treasure realistically untouchable. Nobody would ever risk spending thousands of turns for a CHANCE to find it. Is there a soft cap? A hard cap? I would like to understand the feature better before I move on. Also, if there are few player treasures does that increase the chance that mine will be discovered? I know that NPC's will only spawn in ports with treasure, so that could be used by hunters (which is why I will bury treasure in every port). But what about the chances at each port?

it says that the more gold players put in a port the more NPC gold there will be, will the amount of NPC gold or the number of NPC gold stashes increase

-There is no cap in allowed turns investment.
*Regarding your suggestion, I would not underestimate a determined treasure hunter. There will be a separate statistic and they will get their own ranking page to encourage such a tactic. In future, we can add skills to make this easier for some but lets not discuss improvements in this topic (Better discuss them here if you like: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=511 )

-Check this post regarding complete details how chances will work: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=511

In a short note, there are 3 key things to remember:
1)Opponents will need double your turns to get a chance (which is 50% to go in NPC or 50% for player treasure).
2)You can lose up to 25% of your total amount.
3)If you lose some gold then you get in protection for 7 days (this will be mentioned by the engine to help you out).

Regarding the choosing part in between you and other players, it has to do with turns investment, treasure amount as well as turns effort from the treasure hunter. Check the release notes above for more details.

LoL
I am sure many wonder the same :P
All I can tell you is that there are some really big treasures buried right now.

You need to consult with your quartermaster. However, you have to ask the locals first as player max is dependable on port max.
Do note that these values do not reset or lost anything until you find a treasure.

It tells me that I have a 100% chance of finding player treasure but it says that the player max is 0 gold and I've clicked all the options and it doesn't change, it also says that (after talking to locals) that the total gold in port goes up, but the npc gold isn't, so does that mean the player amount isnt showing?

If you clicked on Ask locals and it is still 0, then there is no gold in that port for you (either no gold overall OR only gold by you/guildmates).
It worths trying one more time to ask the locals, just in case.
