Cargo plunder! It all looks gold to me!

I recently sunk a Man of War, and when it sank, the battle report said I looked all of the cargo.

When I raised it from the sea, it had 20 gold bars in it's storage. All of the cargo wasn't looted.

Is this normal or is this a bug?

This is just a guess on my part, but does that MoW have extra cargo for a trait? Because if so, perhaps the problem is that when looting the ship before it sinking, it just takes what the usual cargo amount is- and doesn't factor extra cargo trait. Still probably a bug, but that's my guess as to why it happened.

I dont think its a bug. I believe you did loot all its cargo before sinking.

If i recall, but cant remember where it was listed, when you wreck hunt a ship from the sea floor it has a chance to come back with gold bars as cargo to give you a little added bonus.

where do i find the shipwreck hunt rules or whatever

Indeed Vane and the Turtle are correct. Random chance to shipwreck hunt a ship with gold on it. It is a small percentage that has gold aboard. You would make more trading each day vs. the two ships you could hunt (without turns used, it takes 12 hours to hunt). With that being said, I am curious as to the player stats of those who continue to do this. ' You have found 2,876 shipwrecks ' are my stats. Anyone else care to share there success? The least I have found is 7 gold bars and the most is 150 gold bars. But gold bars can be few and far between, mostly you find just ships...if anything at all.

You have found 8,384 shipwrecks. One Eye and CDV have way more than I do.

I asked a long time ago if they would ever add this to the stats page since ships plundered is there.

so i wasnt paying attention to much when the shipwreck hunt came out. i was wondering when is the ship sunk, when you punder it and steal it? or
