Also a useful page for getting into treasure hunting. Basically, just explore regions that you pick to treasure hunt in, spend turns in the various options depending on if you want to get a Player or NPC treasure, prepare turns for the hunt, then spend them all.

My two cents would be to not waste turns treasure hunting, though. People don't use it much anymore nowadays... better ways to spend the turns.

Treasure hunting is a good way to spend turns if you have established yourself and your turns are just sitting there.

Choose a port and be prepared to spend a huge amount of turns before doing the very first hunting.

1) Explore 100% the port.
2) Use more turns to raise NPC max, Player max, Port max (the three are linked among them, Player max is a fraction of Port max, NPC max is an even smaller fraction). You don't need to raise NPC is you are planning to go to player hunting, and viceversa.
3) Use more turns to let the chances to prepare for the treasure hunt.

When you feel ready, use turns.

Repeat

My suggestion is to use not this feature during your first days in Avonmora.
The very best option in the beginning is to give a patient look to the Guilds list, choose the one that better suits you, and join it.

Would rather put them towards skirmishing, plundering, or speeding up techs. Personal preference though, I suppose.

Can you raise the NPC max by increasing your own treasure amount or does it have to be the other players? Supposing I am talking about the person with the higher amount of money.
