Extra Cargo - Fishing

I dont know whether to report this as a bug or unintended but welcome consequence.
I have noted that ships with the extra cargo trait appear to fill in the same time as those without when fishing. This gives an extra 20 crates per vessel but with no extra time needed to fish. I dont think this was intended but do think it should remain as an extra bonus when such ships are set to fishing.
Of course this could be resolved by adoption of my other suggestion to restrict fishing to a dedicated new vessel (the fabled Dogger of blessed memory) ...

Most probably there is another catch, like not emptying all cargo on return. We will check it now.

So, I checked it up but I do not see anything that does not work as intended.

Do take in mind that extra cargo also affects production rate. What ships do you use? Perhaps we can calculate the production to see how much time each need.

Here is the formula:

1.5.65 (2015-09-24 13:11:04)

Fishing formula update
Production is now given by: Ship current Crew/5 + Ship Max Cargo/5 - Max Ship Cannons per hour

I have a calculation built on times. Let me look it up.

For the best fishing fleets, the 20 extra cargo does not make a difference. It still takes the same time to complete the load out. I will post the numbers below to show all calculations.

This explains why fishing was not working as intended at my plantation guide (I updated it). I was using the old formula.

A Brig as a result produces:
125/5 + 50/5 - 24 = 25 + 10 - 24 = 11 crates per hour (or 55 per fleet per hour).
It needs 4.54 hours to fill.

A Brig that has extra cargo should produce:
125/5 + 70/5 - 24 = 25 + 14 - 24 = 15 crates per hour (or 75 per fleet per hour).
It needs 4.66 hours to fill.

Pretty similar I say, it should be different for every ship.

What also changes are that ships with extra guns are probably currently a waste!

Not true, I checked. Extra guns do no affect the fishing formula. The rest appear correct.

At all cases, extra cargo means better production rate so using extra cargo ships for fishing, helps.

I think we solved this, I moved this to Help Section.

DezNutz, perhaps you can even create a guide for this.
