So I was perusing the ship market a little while ago, and I noticed that the base prices were different from trade galleon to trade galleon. One was "47,040." Another was "64,440." Yet another was "65,040." Even more so a forth was "61,440."
All of these trade galleons were level 1 with 6 attribute points.
Is this a bug or is there something I am missing?

Also depends who built them : nation ranks give bonuses for ship-build and upgrade costs : add in academy bonuses and the base price will vary substantially.
As an example : a howker will cost me 10k to build in Akrotiri (BERMUDA) , but only 7k in Tzogos (USA) :

Also, I think these "base prices" listed in the market may include such things as cannons, meaning that a ship with full cannons has a higher price than a ship with no cannons. Should be possible to check... Yes, buying max cannons increases the base value of the ship.

Have you noticed that some ships for sale have full cargo?
Do you think this is included in the base price also?

In-game wrote:You will be reimbursed 70% the gold coins you spent to create and upgrade this ship. You will also receive the amount for any cannons currently installed. If there is cargo loaded, you will need to manually sell it to receive the cargo value.
As noted above, Marquess bonus and shipwright technology bonus are redacted.
In the same time Expedition Journey counts as a normal upgrade - this used to be the top way to make gold coin easily back in the day.
