That is true about the argument Danik im just glad to see normal people speaking up finally pushing back on all those who called us idiots since this mass hysteria started, but it is nice to see the Polar Bears are still here, remember back in the 90's, Polar Bears are supposed to be all gone now due to lack of Arctic Ice

Now if you were a smart man, you would be looking at toppo maps to see where the new beach will be in a few hundred years since Nasa says we are still 3-6 meters below the last interglacial high sea level. You could buy some future beach front property and leave it to your Great to the 10th power grand kids.

Exaggeration is not scientific fact nor does it disprove anything. Polar bears, along with a number of other species, are under threat as their habitat is reduced. Kinda obvious, really. Less space to live and hunt in reduces a predatory population.

I doubt many scientists said they would be extinct long ago. They tend to say stuff like 'it is likely they will be driven to extinction' : kinda like that last dolphin swimming in a river in China : the species was not extinct while it lived but hey, it wasnt going to be making many baby dolphins to keep the species going after it died.

Populations tend to need a minimum number to propagate and survive. Once they dip below that then it's a sometimes long slow decline until the last is gone. Intervention can slow that decline. It can reverse it. But the word there is intervention : some one has got to do something about it.

In the case of polar bears then intervention is certainly taking place and at levels far above what was the norm forty years ago. Zoos and wildlife parks are much more about research and preservation of species now than the popular entertainment facilities of the past.

Paying cews to tranq then airlift the polar bears away from the towns where they are rummaging increasingly in trashcans as their habitat, and food supply, reduces is one such intervention.

Before they would have been simply shot and the resultant rug sold to a tourist. None of which interventions the 'it aint happening, wtf, it was colder/hotter fifty thousand years ago' brigade can claim any credit for.

If I throw a bucket of water on your burning house the fire was not any the less dangerous or potentially harmful to you or your kin, it was because I intervened and made it less so.

But hey, it was hotter back when dinosaurs roamed the Earth so, if I see your house on fire, by your logic, let it burn, eh?

Calling dman dumb was not an insult or a troll. It was a statement of fact based on his posts. I had them peer reviewed and 90% agreed with me. The other 10% were dmans peers so had trouble reading. Hey ho.

But lets look at that convo... other posters were being called idiots way back on it. Posters mental faculties were being doubted from the get go. No topic splitting required then.

But as soon as dumman hauls out the old homophobic slurs... then you split the topic into the UoH where it seem slurs belong.

Hello, rank cowardice as such slurs are against the ToS and should be both warned and removed.
