5. Milking/Pushing

Postby Roileon » Sat Sep 21, 2013 7:39 pm

I'm not sure where to put this but under game rule 5 Milking/pushing we are not allowed to exchange voodoo curses beforehand.

"5. Milking/Pushing
You must play your account to its own FULL benefit.

Common severe violations:
*Danger manipulation through plunder screen is prohibited.
*Voodoo curses exchange arrangements before hand are prohibited."

My thought on this is by that, there is no legal way the we can send new players voodoo or support our friends with voodoo curses or exchange ships by giving a player a commandeer card etc.
This is a huge clutch on the game for a rule most people don't know and is never enforced and if it is, most players won't understand why it is a rule in the first place? Due to the nature of voodoo curses exchanges and their positive purposes, it is the most broken and unknown rule in existence right now.
This brings me to the question on, what is the purpose of the no voodoo arrangements clause?
Since this is a suggestion/help post, could this rule be removed or edited to fulfill the purpose of its existence?
"Dead Mod tell no tales"

Afk, looking for that palm tree island beach of Legends.

I have to agree this rule is not a widely followed rule, in a game where you can join a guild, keeping the members of your guild safe from other attacks is a priority to keep your guild running smoothly, it makes no sense to have this as a rule when guild play is a huge part of the game, it should be done away with and a trade option should be added so that people can trade without having to resort to underhanded dealings of giving credits and placing the cards intended for trade to the auction house we all know it happens from time to time for some cards.

just my thoughts and opinions on the subject take it or leave it as you will.

Our guild greatly benefits from being able to make voodoo trades. As an example I will pay a player (with a commandeered ship) outside our guild to cast a Generosity on one of our new players. Then the new player casts a West India or Bribe on me to repay me. This has never been identified as a problem and it would be terrible if it became illegal. I've made something like a "business" trading ships (through Commandeer) for beneficial trade voodoo cast on me.

Here is a break down to pieces, for everyone:

There is one RULE. And the RULE is pretty clear:

5. Milking/Pushing
You must play your account to its own FULL benefit.

Then, to help you understand the rule, we have posted up 2 examples which constitute a severe violation of the rule:
Common severe violations:
*Danger manipulation through plunder screen is prohibited.
*Voodoo curses exchange arrangements before hand are prohibited.

First example, generally means that you are not allowed to arrange battles. Like sending a PM to a friend of yours and agreeing on some battle somewhere. This also means that the only LEGAL way to pass a SHIP to a friend, is COMMANDEER card.

Which leads to the question, is it LEGAL to pass a ship? The answer is it depends. If you are helping a new player or a friend in need, yes it is. However, if your account acts like a COW providing ships to one or more people, then this is MILKING. This account is obviously played in order to help other accounts, a COW account. All involved accounts are banned in such cases.

Second example, Tainting the market in order to help yourself or just arrange a card transfer to a specific someone, is prohibited.

We have a market where players are able to EXCHANGE cards with each other through a market system. The market system must be respected which means that players must not reveal which are their own auctions to other. If everyone did that, there would never be a problem. As to why the market system must be respected is because in different situation the system ends up tainted with overprized auctions that a newcomer for example would fail tro understand. On top of this, the market would end up a tainted exchange system where only buddies would exchange cards. WE DO NOT WANT THIS. IF YOU WANT TO HELP YOUR BUDDIES, CAST YOUR VOODOO ON THEM AND GET PAID IN CREDITS OR LOVE DIRECTLY. DO NOT USE THE MARKET FOR THIS.

Moreover, there is nothing easier for game administrators than catching a tainted market transaction. Thinking that you may do this and never found is naive. All market transactions are NEVER deleted; We still have the first sale on the database. However, we do not check the transactions regularly. We do check them though. This is again a severe violation which can result in heavy penalties like revoking the right to use the market or more.

Finally, I have created a forum topic about milking a long time ago as we have been creating and managing games for many years now. PG community is a growing one. Some are about to start accusing each other of cheating and possibly thinking that administration is not doing its job right. This will be the time where forum bans will start coming faster. Whiners can keep their whining in private. It may sound harsh but it is that simple.

There is no suggestion that can be forwarded here. This belongs to game discussion forums and I will move it there.

The topic about milking is this one: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=515
