newb questions

1) upgrade existing ship first, or get more ships first?
2) how strong should ship be before attacking another?

Easy. Buy a new ship.
More ships = more ressources for trading which = more money.

All my trading fleet are all level 1. they don't need to be higher then that.
Althought my Attacking fleet are all level 10, since you need all the possible stats to boost you're attacking power.
- And for those who have fought and died.. as i approach the gates of heaven; St.Peter i will tell, one more Soldier reporting Sir, i've served my time in hell.

Completely agree with Acadien! Although I'm thinking about spending a fortune slowly upgrading all my trading fleets. Having full cannons and crew would kill my profit making, but it'd stop any newby using a voodoo card when they come into effect to get a trade fleets danger up then gaining thousands off respect off me >.<

Thanks for the replies. I would like to know what the limit is to a fleet. Is there a maximum number of ships? Does the danger rating change with the amount of ships or type of ships?

5 ships max to a fleet.

This explains danger ratings and plunder: http://s2.piratesglory.com/?page=help&action=plunder

OK 5 it is then. Next im curious about speed and its relationship to the fleet. If you have 5 ships of various speed , at what speed does the fleet travel? Average of all ships or the slowest in the fleet? And what is the attacking speed of such a fleet? Average again or slowest in fleet? Also what does the speed reference of very slow, slow, fast, very fast, mean? How much faster is very fast over very slow? Any info given is appreciated.Oh yeah , one more thing, anyone know where to get a hubcap for a 68 volkswagon bus?

Can't help on the last question sorry, other than nabbing it from another bus XD

Fleets will travel the speed of the slowest ships, as that is what would happen in reality. As for attacking speed it goes on a ship by ship basis, it depends on which ship is currently fighting. I'm not sure the precise scale of ship speed but you can play around with it by setting up trader routes and measuring the times they take.

Thanks for the replies. Can anyone explain how long it takes for a port having no resources to get stocked up again. It seems to vary, from a just a couple of hours to a couple of days. Am I missing something?

Ports get a new stock of resources once a day, at the so-called daily update (Ports domination is also updated at the same time).
Go to Market and scroll down. Then you will read: Vaasburg will get an extra stock of tools In 02:45:58
