I oppose idea of open recruitment because what pervents old player from creating new account to spy... It would just encoumber admins to check every account to see is it double or not and that way it would slow development of the game... As far as other idea I don't know every guild can be training or pirate or privateer etc.

What I would propose instead of this is that Avonmora Herald is created for the new players and each guild can apply to admins then that guild is there and it is showed all the time like quartermaster page at least till they don't spend 1000 turns.

Like for example we in SSTG decide that we want 10 new players this month we contact admin and say that then admin makes a list like this:

Curnently recruiting:
Helm 15 players
SSAA 13 players
SSTG 10 players
Ayes 5 players

And so on that list is updated monthly and with each approved application list changes it could be some work but it shouldn't be too complicated.

Others still can apply and be approved or not but this way new player would end up in ctive guild with people to help and ask...

This way guilds keep autonomy over their members but new players have list where they can find place to call home

+1. Plenty of other games do this. Guild leaders have the option to opt in or not. Simple feature to have.

Then new players can search for open guilds or apply to a closed "but recruiting" guild.
I don't fear death. I look forward to it with great anticipation. For then I will met God face to face and let him know that I stole his Man of War!!!

Exactly.

This is an OPTIONAL thing where the Guild can choose if they want players to just enter or not.

I will make sure to be very clear in this now that I edit the original post.

Would a new player even understand the implications of the type of guild they are joining? as in the merchant/pirate/privateer part? Because I sure wouldnt have as a newbie

Well. A new player would probably go by what they picked at the "Start" screen where you choose between the 3 classes.

I am guessing they would not get the implications. But if they wanna be a pirate, they can go to guilds marked as Pirate. Privateers go to privateer. And those that want a taste of everything can go to "Everyone."

This is more of a fun easy to implement feature in which guilds can mark their features and goals...

The real suggestion is the Open Recruitment.
