Player of the year: Voting

Postby Haron » Mon Jan 09, 2017 12:10 pm

The nomination process is now over. Some players had some trouble understanding the concept of "nomination", some were a bit scarce in their explaination of why the player should be nominated, and some did not see the criterium "the player who most have helped making Avonmora a better, more fun place".

This is to be expected, I suppose! :-)

Nevertheless, I have tried to the best of my ability to compose a list of nominated players (bearing the mentioned criterium in mind), along with a short explaination of why they were nominated (as I understand it from those who nominated them). Apologies if I missed some. The poll will run for seven days, and the order is rather random (more or less the order in which they were nominated):

DezNutz: Active in suggestions

Shadowood: Making suggestions, contributions in forum, doing the "Fantasy Draft"

William one eye: Active in suggestions

Charles Vane: Creating action with his "Pirate Port"

Danik: Adding humor to the game

Valar: Creating action with port takeovers and the "Assassins Auction"

Malachi Constant: Helping new players

Captain DaVinci: Helping new players

Avery: Creating action, writing Nelson's Post

The Committee for the Deification of Danik approves of this nomination.

They shall award a substantial amount of dried seaweed and other valuable sushi ingredients to the winner, providing their name starts with a 'D'. No correspondence will be entered into and the award is solely in the gift of the committee.

Thank-you :

Vote Danik : because I'm worth it!

I think we should be allowed more options. Like 2 at least, or preferably 3.

I considered it, Sparrow. Perhaps you're right. I figured I'd do it as simple as possible, though. Maybe I'll do it differently next time I set up a poll.

You forgot yourself on the poll, unless you purposely chose to not participate.

I chose not to include myself. I didn't deserve it anyway :-)

There were a few others left out also. For two reasons:

1) Some were nominated based on in-game achievements rather than for making Avonmora better. They deserve applaus for this, but it's another poll
2) There is a maximum of ten options in the poll. There were maybe three more who could have been included, but I felt that among those, choosing one over the others was wrong, so I chose to stick to the nine I already had.

Honestly I find my name being up there, a waste of time.

Alike the 'best' pirate of 2016 - No 'Merchants' that have been lit up by such Pirate would vote for the pirate ;Out of spite.

They do not want to believe it, nor give me the satisfaction of having it.

So, you guys can go on and mark whoever you believe helped the game cause to be quite honest.

I do not really care.

For those that may say you are jealous - Nope. I just believe my name should not be up there nor do I want it up there. For the Nelsons Post is finished, Admin made sure of that. ( I am not baiting him, merely saying what is which is he deleted it to due inactivity) And I just draw people away from the game.

since we cant vote more than 1 player at a time. i guess we should have one more vote poll for top 3 voted players.

Even if we couldnt vote for them doesnt mean other players(and some out of list) less valuable. they all valuable players for PG for community for us.

As a newcomer i can fairly say that i have been interactions with 7 out of 10 players in poll. Somehow they helped me with their guidance and opinions.
My first post in forum was John Avery's buried treasure supports for newcomers. All of them made and going to make this game more precious and valuable in future.

Not on the listed players but all of you. Just i cant find enough words to show my gratitude. This game's most valuable assets the community and player base. Im glad to be here. Glad to be with you guys. Thanks for all your efforts to make this game even more precious.

Sincerely Mugiwara...

Humbled to just have been nominated. Thank you guys no matter the outcome of this vote Haron has put together. Truly an honor to be named along side some of the best in the game.

And Haron, your name should have been up there.
