Monthly stats/awards/rankings feature

Post here any ideas you might have for statistics.

Before that, here is ours:

Monthly Top 10 Medals/stats
They will be updated at top of the hour (not live, to avoid online times tracking).
They will restart every month and at the ones who made it in top 10 will earn medals.
There will be three main categories, one for guilds, one for nations and finally one for players.

Here are the statistics to include, as currently in mind:
Most battles fought
Most damage conducted
Most damage received
Most Improved (places won in fame ranking)
Most plunder generated
Most trade income generated

We are also thinking to stage Player awards every (most probably) 6 months. These will be decided solely by the players. There will be an in-game menu where you will get to VOTE for other players. Think it like Oscar awards.

Categories for this could be:
1, Who do you think is the best overall player?
2, Who do you think is the Most Valuable Player?
3, Which player has given you the most help, either in game or through information?
4, Which player do you like the most? Can be based on friendliness or just popularity.
5, Who do you think has displayed the most amount of sportsmanship?
6, Who do you think is the person with the best leadership qualities?
7, Who do you think is the person with the best diplomatic qualities?
8, Who do you think is the best merchant?
9, Who do you think is the best pirate?
10, Who do you think is the best all-arounder?
11, Who do you think is the best fighter?
12, Who do you think is the most persistent rebuilder?
13, Who do you think is the most elusive player?
14, Who do you think is the player that has most improved?
15, Who do you think is the player that is most underestimated?
16, Who has been the best team mate you have worked with?
17, Which is your favourite username, it can be any player you've seen?
18, Which is your favourite fleet name you've seen?
19, Which is the best ship name you've seen?
20, Who do you think is the most knowledgable player?
21, Who do you think is the best treasure hunter?

Implementation on these are not yet scheduled. This is a preliminary topic to receive some feedback. Feel free to shoot down or propose categories etc

Awards are an interesting idea I haven't seen in many games. I like it, but will it delay the release of banks and hideouts? I would rather get those earlier rather than later.

These could be scheduled after Hideout release. We need a large feature to have a small break from the Huge features we have been implementing non-stop lately.

Bump. These are great ideas CJ. I hope to get the discussion going on this as well as the draft.

If we implemented "awards" every 6 months or a year, we could offset with a draft every 6 months or a year so there would be something to look forward to either once a quarter of every 6 months.
