oh so its not right or wrong its complained about most .... nope sucky idea cancel culture isn't how it works
but start or participate in some messes then get dropped in awesome
damages or butthurt received in the posting of these words is solely yours and yours alone
if counseling is needed therapist ahben buthert or cryin ferdays is available at the tp kleenex & creme clinic

Here is a set of things sent to me by an source who will not be mentioned

"Here are some reasons the forum died:
1) Trolling is tolerated. This is reason number one.
2) Forum threads get hijacked by trolls. Fix 1, and you fix this as well.

3) Enforce the rules, and they would be banned.

4) Few players are actively playing. This affects the forums, and vice versa.
5) There are lots of balls in the air when it comes to new things in the game, but we have not seen anything new or heard anything specific from the devs in a long time. Why discuss game rules when nothing happens, and there already are a bunch of "approved" suggestions which are not implemented?"

Why cant we enforce the rules already in place? Its like you see on the news, "We need new laws to make those that dont follow the current laws come in line" Why not just enforce the current rules? The forum is supposed to be "Parley Style", Union of honor is supposed to be "barfight style". We can make 1million different places, but if no one enforces the rules, it wont matter... forums will still be dead.

No.

Even thought UoH allows some flaming, there are rules still governing the forums and UoH. You can't have a no-holds barred forum area even if it was just for dman.
I'm only here for Game Development and Forum Moderation.

Sure, SLACK is more open to colorful commentary, trash talking, etc., but even there it isn't entirely rule free. And even then you have people complain about it. "I don't go on SLACK because ......"

So why would a so-called 'barfight' forum be any different? Still subject to rules so how is it different to how UoH runs? Plainly not at all so why make that space when the existing space already ain't fit for purpose?

The issue is folk don't like spaces where they can be freely insulted or abused : for whatever reason. So : fix that first.
