In light of the recent events of Nelson's unexpected taking of Prote...and Feniks' mistake too -
I have been thinking about the 'accidents' that have brought a good laugh around here.

I remember when we were leaving Sin and going to Hellas. Vane went over to set himself up to be ready to jump when the time was right down the track. We were not nearly ready.

In the meantime I noticed a certain player from Spain was lit and I knew Vane would be delighted to have a crack. So I let him know. Neither of us considered said player was a ranker and when Vane raced off in his excitement and hit him, bam.. Hello Hellas!!

I would love to hear some of the communities 'accidents' or mistakes ... if anyone would like to share them...

I was looking at a target to hit so I copied down the ship ID for one of their tails (I was trying to steal their sotl). I waited a while, during which without thinking I copied one of my own ship IDs to use MC on. Of course I wasn't thinking about this when I hit the player. I cast 10 levi's on what I thought was my target's howler, and instead ended up sinking my own SotL, extra attributes and all. By some stroke of luck, one of my guildmates found that very ship during a shipwreck hunt, and I was able to recover it via commandeer. Unfortunately I had to re-level it and it came out with less attributes than before, but I'm lucky I got it back at all. Thought it was worth sharing.

There, it was, in Gasp I think;
4 Sotls, of bangers, with no tail!
And I strike! And I forget to repair, throwing the whole thing off.

Not a very note worthy mistake especially compared to the others listed here, but I recall once I was trying to cast protections on a friend, and I started off with a counter curse, then tried a mindbar, forgetting that since it's not myself I'm casting on the CC would block the MB. Was quite upset at myself for that one

When I was running the competition "Pitt Stop" Mel won a lvl10 sotl.... I forgot to wait until she was online to get the ship....I removed two from the fleet(1 for Mel and the other for the future winner) needless to say, Vane commandeered em

HM.... I raided BS once for a few mill and ended up losing more than half my ships....

Most recently

I attacked SilverShadow without repairs and attacked him like 7 times before realizing I was losing all of them

Sadly, i would say for the first 6-9 months I played, I thought Bribe took an officer from another player. One day, i bought a bunch and found some inactives and ran through about 15 of them casting bribe on them hoping to finally get a free officer.
