The common login of the Austrian Navy was "Dum Spiro Spero", which was latin and ment as long I am breathing I hope.
The poor sailors of a battleship, which was sanked by an enemy-ship were hopeing for rescue so long they were drifting around on the sea-surface until they may be drowned under the water. The large Austrian battle-ship Viribus Unitis was torpeded and destroyed by an Italian battle-ship at the end of the I. World War after the signed seize-fire treaty. That was a real criminal war-act by the Italian Navy to this time. The Italians were allies of Austria at the beginning of the I. World War and then as they recognized that the war would be lost by Austria and Germany they converted to enemies. Sacro Egoismo as they told to the world for declareing their changes of the fronts.
