I'm sure i'll have something to say later. However, first and foremost I want to say luck has Very little to do with how this game progresses. Adding new elements of RNG might be a positive addition. However, it could also backfire horribly. I think the deliberate nature of this game is one of the more solid design concepts of the game as it exists right now.
