It's comforting to see that a thread named "TRUMP 2020" (comfortingly also in capitals) quickly deteriorates into a forum for conspiracy theories. Makes me feel all cozy, as if nothing has changed

Yeah, you seem to be right. It would be easier to take arguments from an opposing side if it wasn't stuffed to the brim with conspiracy theories and facts that haven't had any research put into them.

Now wait a minute, I never said that my side was perfect. I actually am a little disappointed in the direction that it is going, I would much prefer a more progressive approach. Also, not a fan of either candidate btw.

Then you need to choose your words better. The way you and plague were talking made it sound as if you felt only the right had any conspiracies. When honestly, I think the left probably has more. I just remembered the Russia collusion theory, then there was that whole impeachment debacle over his call with Ukraine.

I'm not too fond of most progressives at the moment. I feel like many are out of touch with reality and most of their goals are ultimately a pipe dream.

Edit-that being said, some things do need changing. I just don't trust most of the left to actual do a good job at changing things for the better.

....given that i am from Europe, both US parties are on the right of the political spectrum from where i am standing.

The question of conspiracy theories is one of proportinality....and lets face it, there is no discussion there.

i am still waiting for policy numbers that folks disagree with in regards to the current president and then a brief description of why.
but all i see is i dont like trump because he doesnt talk nice and hes rude
the fact is no president has been lied about more since our third president

anyone whos lied on that much must be doing something right

Well seeing that he is involved in highly illegal foreign activity, do I really need to give an explanation for why people don't like him? That's fine, I will anyway. here are some reasons, not in order:

1. He has several sexual assault accusations against him, some are accusations of pedophilia

2. He has proven many, many times that he doesn't understand how the government - or even politics - works, because he is constantly trying to bribe people into supporting him and has asked other world leaders to help him win the election. This, if you are not aware, is completely illegal.

3. He was so quick to insult Obama, especially his healthcare plan, but then failed to come up with a suitable replacement.

4. The wall. This idea that "Mexico is sending it's worst", and that most of the US's problems are - A. immigrants, B. Mexicans - is completely false and pretty darn racist.

5. Even though he never openly said anything in support for hate groups, so, so many of them have endorsed him. Look, chances are that if several white supremacy and other hate groups are supporting you, you're doing something wrong.

6. He is self-centered and bigoted. I know this falls into the opinion category and doesn't give any real actions, it's such a big part of the issue. He insults other people just to get attention and then uses the attention to give himself press coverage.

7. He prioritizes the economy over the environment. I understand that these are two separate issues, but really how important is the economy going to seem in 2050 when so much of the land we take for granted will be underwater and 80% of all other species are extinct? 8. He supports political figures and new media just because they are nice to him. At many press conferences, he let AONN reporters talk, saying that "they were so nice to him the last time", and thus spreading fake news spewed out by AONN. He also was quick to befriend Putin, a dictator who the FBI has called "a lunatic".

9. He doesn't answer questions from left-wing journalists and reporters, but instead says something irrelevant or brings up a completely topic altogether.

10. He is probably the highest elected vector for fake news and false facts that the US has seen. He encouraged people to drink sanitizer when to prevent Coronavirus, and as a result at least 8 people died. He then promised everyone that a drug that was still being tested - one that could (but there was still no scientific evidence saying that it would) cure COVID. Because of this thousands of people with Lupus and other health problems did not have access to their medication.

It's almost like every time he does something that I consider stupid I'm not even surprised any more just because of the past 4 years.

1.) Accusations mean jack, show me the convictions? Speaking of accusations.... When did you stop beating your wife? Your employer should probably terminate you because that is a serious accusation.

2.) Who did he bribe? And of course you have proof of this and not just hearsay..

3.) Obamacare has done nothing but make healthcare costs worse. I went from paying $60 a pay period to almost $250 a pay period because of Obamacare. All in the name of forcing everyone to have health insurance. Hate to break it to you, but healthcare is not a right.

4.) Right.. That's why Mexico has a wall on their southern border. Try illegally immigrating to Mexico. Tell us how that works out.

5.) So wrong it's funny. Hate groups such as the KKK supported and voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016. Don't believe it do some research. Also look up former US Senator Robert Byrd.

6.) Provide an example. Calling someone a bigot because you don't like them, doesn't make it so.

7.) Climate change/Global Warming is a farce. Take a glass and fill it with Ice Cubes, then fill the glass with water to the brim. Let the ice melt. The water level in the glass will go down. That's science. Fake climate models based on cherry picked and limited data is not scientific. Can you tell me the average CO2 levels and temperature of the earth between the last two ice ages. Mind you the last ice age "ended" something like 10k years ago and the one previous to that was 100k before that. Additionally, if the economy tanks, where are you going to get the money to research how the climate changes 4 times a year.

8.) Why would he want to promote or take questions from "news" organizations that knowingly present false or misleading information. The news agencies that he promotes don't purposely present false and unverified information as fact. Do you know how many times CNN, MSNBC, NYTIMES, etc. have to "print" retractions in regards to their fake "news". But most people don't hear about those, because they bury them.

A recent study showed that the malaria drug Trump mentioned showed that it did actually help patients with COVID. But that doesn't fit the narrative, so ......

Oh and for all the climate kids out there, the ends justify the means. Just like the 80's commercial about your brain on drugs and all the damage scientists said mary jane does to your brain... now your all legalizing it lol.

For climate though, the 70s and 80's the scientists were warning of a new ice age, thats right... the scare was global cooling, but that didnt happen so the new thing in the late 80's and 90's was global warming, but that was erratic at best, (of coarse it was warming, or no one could have settled Canada) so it became climate change.

To learn, for yourself (not what your spoon fed) learn a little about the Milankovitch cycles and i would also recommend you look into glaciation cycles. You will find out that we are in an inter glacial period, which means we have been warming since glacial max. Thats the reason new york isn't under 1/2 mile of ice, but we still have 3 degrees to go before we even start to come close to the temperatures of the last inter glacial.

Want me to show my work, here is some high grade logic for you (i was going for a degree in geo-chemistry when i lived in anchorage) the reason all that water is locked up as permafrost and is melting... its because during the last inter glacial period... it was all swamps!
