Alright but even if it does help smaller states (I live in one btw) it is still set up wrong.

Campaign stops candidates made for the 2016 election

I have not facted checked this and the soutce is obviously bias in favor of popular vote. It worth a look at the write up in my opnion. The write up has a chart showing both parties.

Good read will. It kinda proves the point. They candidates didnt bother with party stronghold states and focused on others.

Check out these election maps. States are popular votes.

Image

Above is the 2018 Connecticut governors voting map. If you looked at this map, you would think it was a republican state, but its not because the cities are democrat so it is a deep blue state.

The next map is crazy!!

Image

Yes thats right!!! New Yorks 2018 Governors Race. Once again, New York is a deep blue state right? Now imagine that was the United States with a popular vote!

It should be noted that both states Elected a Democrat Governor during these races

Candidates will always focus on certain areas more then others, whether you use popular vote or electoral. If we did it by popular vote, then heavy population states and cities will get most of the focus rather then swing states.

This isn't an issue about where each candidate spends most of their time or effort campaigning-they will always go to the areas that they think will be key to their win. That isn't the issue though, the issue is making sure that low population states can stand with heavy population ones. I don't know why I have to keep explaining what should be a simple thing to understand.

The two maps i posted of the popular vote explains the need for the electoral college for national elections. Imagine if the counties were states. You can now see why people are fleeing NY and CT. Because of the major cities populations going deep blue, the rest of the states citizens get no representation. Not fair in the least, and isnt that what its supposed to be about ... fair for all? Or is it about just what is fair for large groups of like minded people living right next to each other?

Just look at all that red on them maps, bet you didnt know there were so many racists living in these states! :D :D

The map is showing the effect is opposite of melivas defense for electoral. It really does not give small states s voice.
Heavily populated states get a lot of votes. But they are typicsply already tied to a party.
Only potential swing states important to the candidates.

Popular would mean all voters must matter to the candidates.
But it does mean state needs become irrelevant for presidential elections.

Now after some thought im starting to think melivas suggestion of electoral but divided by perentage might actually make the most sense.

It means all votes and all voters count.
It gives a much more accurate representation of popular vote.
It gives more incentive for people to vote who live in states that lean heavily opposite their political veiw.
It means candates will need to focus on nation needs over swing state needs.
By tying popular to a spilt electoral cast, states will retain their voice while more voters get heard. Meaning candidates will need to consider both states needs as well as citizen needs.

Swing states will no longer be relavant.

Its a good in between

Okay, first off, America first is a good policy. A government as well as officials working in a government should ALWAYS prioritize the country they are a part of before any other. Just like a father should always prioritize his family over his neighbors. This should be basic common bloody sense. Now, if your in a good position, and can afford to help others, by all means do so. However don't do so to the degree that it hurts you. I might give a few bucks here and there to folks on the street, I won't however give so much that I can't pay rent for myself. Again, this should be basic common bloody sense. Yet apparently, it isn't.

Second, it's incredibly idiotic to compare Trump to Hitler. How many folks has Trump ordered to be killed? How many Jews has he gassed so far? Now look, I do think Trump is kind of a arsehole. I don't really like him as a person. But again, comparing him to Hitler? Really? Again, that's just idiotic.

Third-just because 2 images are similar, doesn't mean anything. Many flags use similar designs, as do many other types of images. For example, look at ALL the flags that has a cross in them somewhere. Or how so many counties use 3 stripes of color. That doesn't magically make said countries similar, or connected in any way.

Also Draque, Not sure if you are implying that I think conservatives are racist since you quoted me, but I don't think that at all.

Also Will, I do agree that electoral has some problems. I live in Kansas, and honestly, I don't bother to vote. It's a deep red state, so I know that if I vote democrat, it won't matter, and if I vote republican, well they would have won without my vote. Save for rare occasions. So I would be happy if we did allow electoral to be divided by a state's popular vote. Would encourage everyone to vote that way. But if I had to decide between a pure popular or pure electoral like we have now, I have to go with electoral. I do think that a mixed system would be better though.

Hey Melvina, not at all... that wasnt for you, i was just making a joke about how the far left thinks that the people on the right are racists, thought it was funny to see how many racists live in these Democratic states :D

I do feel a little discouraged though, Blue doesnt respond to my posts anymore unless its about music. I do understand, it makes too much sense to argue with.

Lastly, Blue, you should let people know that that shirt was designed to look like and is called the Trump Nazi shirt when you want to order it. :D Thats like if CNN made their own news stories then tried to pass it off as real news... I mean, come on ppsshaaaaa... :)
