So that means that IF and WHEN a bill is passed to alter or destroy the second amendment (I doubt it will ever be rid of entirely), that is just America at work. No, it's not the government turning tyrannical. It's just how the government works. You know who else thought the government was being tyrannical when a new amendment was passed? Slave owners. That's right. I just compared you to a slave owner. Not to say that you support slavery, but you don't seem to understand that laws are allowed to change. Just because the founding fathers made an amendment doesn't mean that it has to stay that way, permanently. Again, the founding fathers allowed for slavery - hell - most of them owned slaves themselves. But that didn't stop us from abolishing slavery, did it?

No blue the bill of rights are not allowed to change. Slavery was abolished and was finally inline with the bill of rights, not against it... Very bad comparison. I wouldnt use that one again against anyone who knows better :)

Should the people be able to vote away free speech? Right to peacefully protest? Free Press? States Rights? or any of the other Bill of Rights articles? You cant hunt and pick? Either you can change them all or none of them.

One could even say they have the amendments in order of importance. 1st, Right to Free speech, 2nd to protect the the first and the rest.

ah yes owning guns vs owning slaves i see the moral comparison here :D
i dont really care what you compare me to
the fact is one is a moral argument and the other is clearly an overreach and anyone who feels gun ownership is bad shouldnt have one
dial 911 for the police they want to defund wait on the social worker to arrive and explain to the rapist of their mother why doing bad things and using force with a knife in his hand is bad
the average response time in the usa is 10 minutes imagine how long it will take for a social worker who wants to take that call

name half of the states willing to even entertain the thought of removing guns and then you can say the usa is changing
but a few states filled with sissies and soyboys is hardly the navigation instrument of these united states :D :D :D
damages or butthurt received in the posting of these words is solely yours and yours alone
if counseling is needed therapist ahben buthert or cryin ferdays is available at the tp kleenex & creme clinic

Even the NRA, the great big loud voice of the gun lobby gets to only sign up less than 7% of US gun owners : who is the real 'silent majority' out there? Cold-handers or shoulder-shruggers?

i guess vets are ineffective but since you want to talk military some join because they are really loyal to the usa and with the following oath

I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.

you will notice the words against all enemies foreign and DOMESTIC
notice the allegiance part
now some are there for a check and some for college but you will find plenty there for loyalty to the constitution

im not a nra member
i am involved with several 1st and 2nd amendment organizations
the nra is great for lobbying on a national level but i prefer working with folks in my community because those are the people who i would be
fighting with or for
i get it you are a hater of the usa and as such you can say all you want but you or anyone else who tries to dictate the ownership of my guns will not meet violence at my door as i would no longer be at any registered address
but i would be out to collect from the collectors :y

Big assumption in there too : you cant be assuming all those serving and all veterans will share your notion of what a 'domestic' enemy is. I reckon a fair number might well judge that it is you who are such in resisting a lawful request to surrender an illegal fire-arm. (Which it would be if such laws as you fear were ever enacted).

You dont have to look far to to the likely consequences of such a refusal. Hell, folk get shot down just because an officer 'thinks' they are going for a gun, never mind refusing to lay one down.

But thats fine, you get to be a martyr! Some patriot will name a park bench after you.

A serious question : do you look forward to that glorious day? Only it does remind me of a crazy old anarchist I once knew who would prophesise doom gloom and then hanging the boojwah mofo's from every available streetlamp.. come the glorious day!

Hey I'm not even for getting rid of guns entirely. As I've mentioned I own two guns.

What I am for is tighter laws and gun regulations. Less magazine capacity. Things like that. I also think that there should be an AR buy back, because ARs are impractical for hunting uses and completely unnecessary for self defense. A semi-auto shotgun or double-action revolver is sufficient (unless you are a terrible shot :D :D)

I hate to get in between you two, but i think you would see more sheriffs deputizing anyone who passes the background if they try to take gun away. Its already happened here when silly laws were trying to be passed in different states. You had whole counties law enforcement saying the would not enforce new regs.

There are people who look at today and dream and those who look at the future and are a bit more realistic. I will leave that to others to determine which is which :)

Then i am for buying back all cars and SUV's except for Yugo's and 1979 Chevy pickups. Those are sufficient. Cant hunt and pick what choices you take away based on your feelings. :)

And before you say thay arent the same... most people used both guns and cars responsibly, both can be used to kill others (car bombs, driving threw crowds, drunk driving) only difference is, outside of wars, cars are responsible for far more fatalities per year than guns.

i can only speak of military personnel i know and they are very solid on what they believe and i am clear with no assumptions they take that oath seriously
i was hoping for a flower garden in some patriots yard but ill take the park bench

and to answer your serious question
no
i want to own my guns and anyone who takes a stance that guns are bad show their support of that thought by not buying them
but to tell me what i will do in my own home because they dont like it is stupid
lets flip it lets say a law was passed that stated every citizen must be armed
i would think being armed was great but forcing someone to be armed i would be against
they can spend their money how they like
you gotta love my neighbor he has a building a block up full of tanks and military vehicles
makes me all warm and fuzzy as well as jealous

When was the last time you heard of someone driving into a school with an SUV and running over kids?

how many kids are killed yearly by speeders and drunk driving ... bet the school shootings pale in comparison by the number

But guns only purpose is to injure and kill. Cars main purpose is to transport passengers. Running people over and blowing them up is just an afterthought.

Tell me what guns are used for other than to inflict harm onto other things?
