That should be Joe Biden's new campaign slogan.

But in all seriousness, Dman you probably think I'm a socialist but look at me, I own multiple guns and I go hunting regularly.

Not interested in debating nomenclature or the finer points of political philosophies with folk who think owning or using a firearm automatically comes with a given political affiliation.

guns dont vote but they do defend from a tyrannical government that sways from our original ideology as defined by the constitution and our forefathers

first mustache i doubt you hunt or own firearms
as you have said you have went without food
so following that train of thought and adding that you saved up years for a bicycle
that would reflect poorly on your parents if they bought you guns and had times of scarcity with concern to food
damages or butthurt received in the posting of these words is solely yours and yours alone

A. A gun is a source of food

B. Who said they bought them for me? As a matter of fact, my shotgun was given to me by a friend and the rifle was given to me by one of my relatives.

I don't care if you "doubt I hunt or own a gun". It doesn't matter. Whether or not you believe me, that doesn't change that it's true.

I'm not here to talk about my family problems. I'm here to talk about one thing.

Approx 75 million US citizens own a firearm. The average is about five per owner. The actual figure for firearms in private ownership in the US is close on 400mil. That's about 120 per 100 citizens. Lots of room for socialists to be owning guns in there.

BTW : the voice of gun-ownership, the NRA, manages to have some 5 million members, a figure that hasnt changed much over the last decade. So, even if all are die-hard cold-handers... that's only 25million out of the 400million guns out there. To put that in perspective, the combined LEA's in the USA manage to own about the same number of fire-arms.

Fact is a lot of lazy assumptions get made about gun-owners by all sides in the gun control debate. It gets a bit like communism... each sect/schism/splinter/fragment/faction/front claim to be the 'true' communists (and few can hate and despise a communist as much as one from a differing faction) but then combine their numbers when trying to throw their PR weight around.

Which is fine as those opposed to them lump them all together as well under a catch-all name 'socialist', 'communist', 'terrorist', 'antifa', 'what-ever name scares the voters this week'.

You dont have to be a republican to own a gun. You dont even have to mind that much if the second amendment gets amended. You dont have to lie awake at night worrying when the guvmint is gonna take away your rights. One does not automatically lead to the other.

so what you mean to say is you want to ramble on and throw out your quickly googled facts
make some self supposed pessimistic statement and sit back with a smug look and think lookie what i did
makes sense
i will support that gun owners vs guns are not the same numbers
but i will also say when and if the govt tries to deviate from our constitution to the degree fighting becomes needed you will find every gun will have a hand to sit in
i will be the first to arm my whole damn neighborhood ;)

There you go, assuming they will give a toss. I will certainly agree a significant number will run around screeching should that day ever come. As to how effective they would be in the face of LEA/NG/military firepower? Meh.
Piss and wind from a few braggarts dressed in camo and quoting the Turner Diaries mostly.

Even the NRA, the great big loud voice of the gun lobby gets to only sign up less than 7% of US gun owners : who is the real 'silent majority' out there? Cold-handers or shoulder-shruggers?

What's the point of this country? The thing that makes it so great? That everyone has a say and can change laws to fit their needs.

So that means that IF and WHEN a bill is passed to alter or destroy the second amendment (I doubt it will ever be rid of entirely), that is just America at work. No, it's not the government turning tyrannical. It's just how the government works. You know who else thought the government was being tyrannical when a new amendment was passed? Slave owners. That's right. I just compared you to a slave owner. Not to say that you support slavery, but you don't seem to understand that laws are allowed to change. Just because the founding fathers made an amendment doesn't mean that it has to stay that way, permanently. Again, the founding fathers allowed for slavery - hell - most of them owned slaves themselves. But that didn't stop us from abolishing slavery, did it?

i guess vets are ineffective but since you want to talk military some join because they are really loyal to the usa and with the following oath

I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.

you will notice the words against all enemies foreign and DOMESTIC
notice the allegiance part
now some are there for a check and some for college but you will find plenty there for loyalty to the constitution

im not a nra member
i am involved with several 1st and 2nd amendment organizations
the nra is great for lobbying on a national level but i prefer working with folks in my community because those are the people who i would be
fighting with or for
i get it you are a hater of the usa and as such you can say all you want but you or anyone else who tries to dictate the ownership of my guns will not meet violence at my door as i would no longer be at any registered address
but i would be out to collect from the collectors :y

That makes no sense. Isn't the point of the USA that people will always be able to change and evolve it? Just because someone doesn't like the 2nd amendment doesn't mean they hate the USA. Just because someone doesn't like Trump doesn't mean they hate the USA. If anything, it should show you that they care enough about it to argue and fight for what they believe the future of this country should be.
