Greenhouse gases have been warming the oceans since early 1800's. Pre-industrial and then increases from around 1830 Industrial era.

Kim, the whole point of this exercise was to two fold.

1. Dihydrogen Monoxide is the scientific term for H2O. But if you say it that way and list the attributes of water, you can make it sound really scary to those who dont know any better. Do a search on videos for DHMO, pretty funny how gullible some people can be.

2. Do your own research, come to your own conclusions, dont just mindlessly follow anyone.

"Climate Change" started 3.8 billion years ago after the heavy bombardment period.

One could argue that the large scale contributions of humans on climate started during the industrial revolution when we burned a shart load of coal.
What started in the 60's was the hysteria that due to climate change we were going into a new ice age.

You denounce all the observed science we have given you, all the natural cycles that we have brought up and swear by forecast science instead (predicting the future). You say science gets it wrong, and they do, but only the prediction and theory's can be wrong, actual historic observations are not.

Just because an idea is new to you, doesn't mean its new. Just because your scared about the idea doesn't mean everyone who knows better should be scared. What your saying is , dont be afraid of the new ice age of the 60's 70's 80's, those scientists screaming about it got it wrong, dont be afraid of the rapid global warming and melting of Antarctica touted in the 90's and early 2000's, those scientists screaming about it got it wrong, dont be afraid about all the sea level rise predicted in for 2014-2017, those scientists screaming about it got it wrong, but defiantly be afraid that some scientists predict all trees and most species on the planet will be gone in 30 years because that is totally right!

The story listed a number of alarming safety concerns related to a substance made up of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom (H2O) called dihydrogen monoxide, or water. The term, though virtually unused by the scientific community, does generally follow conventions for naming compounds.

In April 1997, a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette story, “Internet-inspired prank lands 4 teens in hot water,” detailed another iteration of the hoax. This time, four boys between the ages of 14–16 distributed fliers cautioning people to call an 800 number if they suspected their water was contaminated with dihydrogen monoxide. The number directed panicked callers to a phone sex line. The article claims that the made-up chemical formula is a “scientist joke as old as a kick-me sign on the back of a lab smock but began circulating on Internet newsgroups as early as 1994, when message posters carried out seemingly serious debates about the pros and cons of banning the stuff.” This suggests that by this time the hoax had become a popular in-joke among scientists but was otherwise not widely known.

Knowledge of the “scientist joke” spread more publicly that year in 1997 when a student used the dihydrogen monoxide hoax as the subject of a winning science fair project titled “How Gullible Are We?”

While I usually follow the Shrek philosophy, I like your dedication to doing your part for the environment. In a study I just made up right now, if we dont control people farts, we will loose 95% of fresh scented under ware worldwide by 2049 and as everyone knows, models say fresh scented no undies means our moon will fly away leading to the death of all sea life affected by the tides.
