Greta Thunberg is a great inspiration to young people across the globe. And she's the wake up call that the world needs.

Don't act like we aren't doing enough ourselves.

We are the ones that will have to deal with the consequences of a climate crisis. We are the ones that will have to come up with a solution to mass flooding. We are the ones that will have to figure out a way to purify air. We are the ones that will have to deal with the devastating economic impact that climate change is going to have.

So don't give me that "you're just paranoid" garbage.

I do not think that the generations before us didn't know or care about the environmental problems that we are facing. You think I don't know about the 60s and 70s?

But generations before mine, specifically the silent generation and baby boomers, have massively contributed to changing the system to pollute and obliterate the environment. The rest just followed. I think that they should do their fair share and clean up after themselves! Don't deny the problem that you created. Work towards a solution.

Our fact based solution - and a big hope for us - was called the green new deal. But no. It was blocked by a 78-year-old man who doesn't have to face the consequences of the problem the he and other people started and contributed to.

its all about the cash without the billions of federal funds along with private donators these scientists would be poor and jobless

with all the billions of federal funding sunk into research (which folks are claiming is a science) you would think there would be amazing strides in the fight against global warming
instead we get opinions and a huge payroll of scientist who like to spend our taxes on opinions and see it as a steady cash cow

when i see folks eating on our dime preaching gloom and doom i become skeptical
when scientist say the opposite of their peers and are not part of the feeding frenzy for our tax dollars obviously i lean towards them because they have little to gain other than notoriety

go ahead go look up the sums spent on global warming research by the government (with no results except broken models lol) and tell me for the amount spent we couldnt have already made great strides

when they are not spending billions and have no cash cow then i might entertain their "research" more

while i cant argue for or against i can certainly attribute motive

Me: "Hi, um I'd like to know, in regards to climate change if you can confidently say, as a climatologist, that climate change is real, and not just theory? I've been debating some people who seem to be a little on the skeptical side. "

Climatologist: "There is a certain point where with, um, with enough evidence you can, you can accurately say that climate change is real and is a real problem. And So we have enough evidence to, to, to safely say that these climate models are factual, not just predictions. And you sound like a bright young man, and if you, if you want my opinion, if you want my opinion, you are wasting your time debating with these folks. Some people just can't and won't, uh, have their mind changed, even if science is against it."

Me: "Thank you, sir. They asked me to ask you a question. They said to ask if the predictions about how climate change will affect our future, if they are absolute facts or just theory?"


Climatologist: "Hey, you're very welcome. And to answer your friend's question, um, well we can't say that something that hasn't happened yet, we can't say that they are fact. But I strongly believe that, that the predictions are very, very accurate, so we can be sure that they are telling the truth."

Me: "Once again, thank you."

Climatologist: "You are very welcome."

.I've never said I didn't believe we have problems. I've never said I don't care about the environment - I am hippie ffs!! Long before you came into this world I was hugging trees. I grew up in the topics on a boat barefoot on an island - on the great barrier reef - you think I have no understanding of the oceans, the life within them? I am no scientist - I am no expert. I do have personal experience and a dep love of my environment. I hung out with others like me, many of whom were environmentalists and scientists themselves who were very involved in protecting and preserving the reef and all the life contained within.

You don't have to be hysterical and grasp at paper straws to get your point across. And you don't have to run everybody else down doing it.

Looking after the planet is not something new for your generation Mustach and Kim.
You act like nobody cared or did anything let alone knew anything before you came along.

It did not start with your generation and Greta - (did she get some councelling?) - that child has been frightened out of her wits - by people who sprout irrational ' the world is ending - we are all going to die ' - As someone else mentioned - stop complaining and bitching at everyone and start putting your fact-based solutions forward.
