That is what is meant by tyranny. The government taking away or infringing on your God given rights. The first 10 Amendments of the Constitution protect these rights.

. But Dez something you need to take into consideration is what you define as your God-given rights another person might see as tyranny. Different people have different values and beliefs. In some cultures certain groups are essentially second class citizens. In some areas slavery might be seen as acceptable. Or that its perfectly fine for a man to have multiple wives, or cousins to marry. I think the most universal human rights at the moment is the ones defined by the UN. but even then there are places that do not conform to them.
