The above info is based on approximation of locations. THe guide was never meant to be a precise one. This is meant to help you look near the right place, rather than the most unlikely, opposite-corner-port, so as to save your time/turns. Ps don't mistake this for an incorrect guide. NPC Specific targets may still appear quite out of range from these ports. But it's just best to start looking here. That's all we wanted to give.

This isuue, we discuss about National currencies.
Since the ports fly the flags of different nations, the value of gold/currencies should differ across the ports. I think introducing currency will be a good addition for overworking our brains. oops, sorry, I think it should have been 'addition for good intelligent people'. Anyway, the difference in currency should boost/dimnish trade profits/losses accordingly. Its not an unnecessary or already taken care of complication. The introsuction of currency system will automatically give rise to eceonomic differences in nations. The stronger a national currency relative to others, the more better its economy.

I think currency value should be set by the total trade in a Nation's ports, taking into account the favorable/unfavorable balances in trade, the policies of the government, or even military strength, etc. Also, the PC Income should also matter (PC Income is related to income tax, so I think that factor will be a constant). THere is much more by simply intorducing currency.

And don't tell me currency system was not there in the age of Gunpowder. Currency differences have been eveident since the time before Rome itself, perhaps it dates back to the time of Classical Greece. Though they were gold and silver coins, the values assigned to them havbe been different.

the fluctuations in currency price in RL are manipulated by the countries central bank to encourage/discourage trade for various economic reasons...but the value of the currency is determined in a large part by the sale or purchase of a currency based on market perception.

I suppose that a currency from a strong and stable country (Spain) would become the USD of Avonmorra and be the currency of choice for those avoiding risk, all the rest would be paired and then depending on events. Midway would be the EURO along with it's craziness...could be interesting or a disaster.

I think the biggest difference is that while different values were assigned to various gold/silver coins in the gunpowder age, they were still GOLD or Silver...what we have today are fiat currencies that haven't been worth the paper they are printed on since the 30's.

What do ye mean, it would be interesting OR a disaster; It will be both! It was the purpose of introducing this thing! Chaos rampant! Confusion! In other words, excitement for me. Or, you could say it is just more calculations for Kings.

Implementing this...wll be sometime in the next century, but it is assured that we will say it will be implemented in a year. Then when we do implement it after 99 years or so, we'll have a celebration, the Currecy festival, in which we will offer every player 500 currency units. Even if the world has advanced to a cashless society, we will still act as if we are in the Gunpowder age. The currency system will raise the game verison by 0.01. After that, we have planned to put currency as a major trading resource. The Politicians Voodoo card will get you to hoard physical money. You can save it in banks and you can put PG into Recesssion. After that, a struggle among the hoarders will begin. Who wins will win the game once and for all.

Pirates, Merchants and Nobility, Its Sir Johnny English's interview time again. This time, the grace who has consented to be interviewee is...
Sir/Pirate Roberts

Welcome, Pirate Roberts.

Ahoy there,
How great it is to be part of this interview SJE. I thank you for inviting me into it!

SJE: The first question that comes to mind when one thinks of 'Pirates' is something like a person who raids, steals plunders and more
recently, due to films being made on the subject, cool dudes. How do you think you relate to this standard stereotype,
for you have made quite a satement, both in the forums and the game, that you brand yourself a pirate. To what extenet do you agree
to the definition of a pirate?
PR: Well , the stereotype of a pirate is in Somewhat Correct I feel : As Pirates Do Plunder, raids and occasionally steals vessels... Yet I feel I have to edit a part of it, A pirate is someone with less then a few ships on him at all times... By a few ships I mean under 5 ships...

SJE:That done, the foremost thing that seems to appear on the fore of many players, when asked your description, is usually vile and quite unsettling.
What, from your point of view, was the event(s) leading to such musings?
PR: Well I feel people think of me as "Vile" and "Upsetting " due to usually me either raiding them/Raiding there friends : I feel like Certain people ( Not mentioning any names ) Have hated me since The England VS ZomB war, where ZomB dropped to under 100 Million for the first time in at 6 months... After that I turned pirate, raiding everybody I could : So I feel, they call me that due to me raiding them , But I think , they should just get on with it, this game is not FarmVille, it is PIRATES glory : If you can not manage a hit or two in your game life, what is the point? Yeah I understand, to have what you worked for destroyed in a matter of hours to a pirate who " Does not Care " and that you can not get back at in any way : Due to his lack of ships : Could indeed trigger that emotion towards me...

SJE: Logic time: If you were given a fruit and asked to chop it, what do you think, is the instrument of your choice to get it done? (pls note that this is just a question to reveal how U think; no answer is a bad answer, I'll make it clear)
PR: Caught me off guard on this one : Well to be honest anything with a sharp blade could cut through fruit , so in that case I would just use a normal Knife... I hope this is what you are after...
SJE: Yus, izz vot i vas after.

SJE: A great man once made all others forget his name, using magic. What do you think could be the reason behind it? Pls state a single reason, the first one that comes to your mind.
PR: Well: The great man could of been a notorious individual, well Liked by everyone that had just committed a great felony... And he does not want everyone to remember him because of the felony : So he chose to everyone forget his name?....
SJE: A good answer, certainly.

SJE: Your style of gameplay has been commented upon several times now. I, for one, try to enjoy the game in my own way, it can get booooring when you are expecting too much. What is your
method of play, in PG?
PR: Aye that it has been commented upon , well my method is by rights Pirating which Can be profitable : Some days you make nothing, other days a million then once I
have been stacking : I can make 92 million gc in one hour... I enjoy Pirating , I always come by a saying " Always expect the unexpected " as told to me
By Danik one time...

SJE: What do you think of the recent developments in the game? Pls comment and express yer views on some of 'em major updates.
PR: Well Recently there has been no " Recent Developments " since fishing in fact, So I will comment about fishing : To me it makes Merchants much Safer then before :
Not 100% safe as their is ways to get a target that is fishing into 3+ danger rating.Which is highly profitable to ( Fishing ) you can pull 2 million up out of no
where with a level 100 warehouse ; But to pirates, this is not a good development , as they are going to have to use more Rare curses then before, Such as before all
we needed was 2 hostile natives, now you would need 3 Fugitive of Justice/6 FoJ if you are going to play the " Nobody saw a thing " So for pirates it is bad :
To merchants it is good.

SJE: You have a good gang around you most of the time. I've tried to to raid collectively or even at least do a plunder board attack cohesively in a few guilds.
I am yet to do one succesfully. How do you, as a team find easy support and reliance among a team?
PR: Well , if we do work as a team to raid : One of us casts the Voodoo ( Most of the time it is the person with the most Voodoo ) which is 2/3 Hostile Natives then :
The other person usually goes to where the persons fleets can be found in x port... Then attacks... After the attack the Voodoo caster withdrawls the voodoo.... Then
if there is another person that was not in the raid, another raid takes place later with the same voodoo caster : But not the same hitter... Same thing goes
on as before : Only thing that is different is the attacker and target... It is all a matter of trust within each other : That if the target has 4 million,
he has to share some profits with the voodoo caster... Suprisingly, all it takes is a good 100 turns to do a raid by yourself though :
Which i am sure, some of you may know that, It is also we know each others active times, as otherwise we would not be able to work as a team.
If you really wish it, you can join in with a raid one day...
SJE: Thanks for the offer, but I think I am a Noble, rather than pirate or a merchant. But thanks for the offer though, may take it up one day when I am about to leave PG ( that might be far away, might be near)

SJE: PG has many pwerful, strong, experienced players. They always seem to be of a different level. Do you think one can actually defeat such players, now that banks and marinas have come?
I do not say that this is the necessity or anything like that; I just ask if its even possible for them: Defeat? Adn more importantly, what do ye think of it?
PR: Aye, PG has many , many Powerful, strong and experienced players : But in my opinion : They can be taken down by almost anyone, even with banks and mariners are here :
I remember ArcDeathLords description on his profile " Because all it takes is one bad day " it is true : All you need to know is the players Inactive times when he is
sleeping : Whilst having the right voodoo you can destroy any player... Well to be honest, I personally think some players : Are not meant to be taken down , Players
that have been playing since the beginning such as Black Sparrow...

SJE: This game is a platform of players, from every kind of society and nation. Pls say what you think of this...massive world,
of large socialization possibilities? Do you think thoughts and ideas can mix here? Or, is your view more like - "Bah, this is nigh unlikely, players must have
enough sense not to reveal too much in the internet
by expressing their ideas. Just play and go" I agree that this is an extreme side of thought, but where do your thoughts lie, regarding this?
In this defined spectrum, or somewhere entirely beyond this?
PR: Well in my views players from all over can actually share their ideas and thoughts : You can make great friends with someone that is half way across
the world from you you know... I do partially agree with no they should not reveal to much about themselves : To a extent that as long as you are talking about
your job in real life, your family : That is fine, but when it gets to certain " Other things " you begin to think, I do not need to know this :
Thus saying not to reveal too much...

SJE: If you were to introduce updates and had the full capacity and authority to implement it any way you like, how would you want it done?
PR: Well they are a few things that I would like to be implemented but is not going to happen due to " Pirates Glory " being more Merchant based due to fishing...
> Make fishing less safe, cut down fishing times to a hour - As then it is like a trade route : Thus pirates being able to light them up.
> Make Trade Master/Flood be able to see Fishing Trade routes as i have tested on a player if trade master would work for fishing and surprisingly - It does not work.
> Maybe make animated battles? Such as a game I use to play ( POTC -IOW) had naval battles where you could control your ships and depended on types of cannons..
SJE: Nice Ideas. On with the next one.

SJE: What do you think of the current dilemma in the world regarding language? Will languages mrege into one gradually? Or will it be as always, with some dying off and other new ones being born all the time?
I ask this due to the emegence of the Net language, where almost all of the cyber world uses the roman script now. THe language barriers have been shattered because of Online translators.
What do yout think is the disposition of language in this world? And, if you have thoughts relating this to Pg, pls add, but its not necessary; but do state your view freely.
PR: Well , I personally think at one point : A few languages will be forgotten about , as English/Chinese and I think Spanish in the world language is rising, and is known in many Countrys but I do not think it will be for a long time
... Their is many reasons languages could die off : Not enough Population, wars , Political parties...Whilst in Pirates Glory, we see players that are from all across the world, I have even trained a player that speaks Spanish : I have to use translator, their appears to
be more English/American sites then any others : Maybe this game should have a Auto Translator for people that do not understand english : Maybe just in the Instant
message tab, could be a language translator that you choose your language from the start...

SJE: You have a nice tutorial website. What do you will to share about the cause for creating a website, its general review, etc.?
PR: Well what we must remember is : I am no programmer nor a pro website Developer but , it is to help Pirates Glory, it is to help New Players understand
more about the game... Now some of you may be thinking, how can it help when its locked : I have just started making some extras to boost it up a little,
about the updates to the game.... Well to New players it is very helpful, helps them a lot understand the game, to advanced players it is much more of a refresh
as they may already know how to do certain stuff...

SJE: a) How many fish, exactly gets sold every market day (by you)?
b) Do you eat any of your fish yourself?
PR: Ermmm... Let me think about this... 30 x 0 = 0 so, yeah 0 fish a day gets sold to the market or transported... As I said earlier - A pirate only has a few ships :
None of them which are Merchant Ships, I invite people to spy report me if they do not believe me...

Oh of course I eat all the fish I get, tastes so nice, I fry it up ;)

SJE: If you are in a situation where you can't do anything that is worth it, what would you do?

PR: Well I am guessing you mean in pirates glory : If I was in that situation, I would wait until I can do something, for example if a player was trying to be a pirate : And sold all his/her ships I would wait until he has got bored of pirating and started building trade ships to cast Hoards of voodoo on the player.

SJE: Five hundred dollars can buy you five mangonels (lets just assume that). Then, does each magnonel equal 100 dollars? (A test, but a philosophic/creativity one)

PR: Well , We will presume each one is 100 Dollars, but let us not Lets you buy 4 and get one free - Which means per one costs $125 x 4 = $500...

SJE Do you bielve the rsearch taht syas poelpe can raed wrods, hewover msiplet, bcsuaee the biran olny rades the frsit and lsat ltteers of the wrod to reziconge a wrod, as lnog as all the ltteers are three?
PR: Yes, I guess : As i think some people may not be able to read it, but not so sure about that....

SJE: What is your view, in general, about the game as a whole?

PR: Well in general I think it is a good game with a bright future ahead of it : It has lasted a few years now as it is, chances are it is not going to shut down tomorrow...

SJE: What has been your most enjoyable event in the game?

PR: Well, I have never really lost a Man Of War - In fact I have never really lost a ship, I take them Well I really have 2 most Enjoyable events one of which was in War With The Pirate Kings , Due to them having something to loose, and me not having anything to loose : Yet the other one is taking Peoples mows, as you get a adrenaline rush : Due to what you have just done and what the outcomes maybe, sometimes loads, sometimes none...

SJE: Final Q: What's your favourtie dialog? (Can be yours, if you wish, but you can say someone others' too)

PR: Ahhh : Well I have no real quotes to identify myself but i do like a quote from Xepshunall a player that was known his own player...
"Yesterday I gave my all. Today I'll give more. Tomorrow, I'll take back what you took for granted."
