To celebrate such an auspicious occasion, we at MIAB decided a brief moment should be dedicated to the humble axe.
- Pirates loved their boarding axes and along with their cutlasses and muskets, they were often the weapon of choice during the Golden Age of Piracy-

Pirates loved to hurl them around and often partied with competitions amongst themselves, gambling and drinking.I bet that was fun. :P

It was an invaluable tool for the most various tasks, like climbing the side of opponent's ships, cutting through ropes, rigging, cutting down and breaking doors and hatches, nets and wood etc..... And flesh...
:o:

A pirate could practically disable whole ship with this weapon and known to be thrown at enemies when in battle.

The navies of the time also employed them.

Today, the axe-throwing industry is enjoying a return and thriving with a global return of $203M usd. It is becoming so poplar as a sport that a small business can currently bring in up to 500K to one million USD in its first year!

From the magnificently forged and embossed craftsmanship of the Vikings to the humble beginnings in Australia :P (the first known axe with a handle) we take a look as we ask you to bring forth your prettiest, most interesting-tale-attached, the oldest or most effective, most useless, deadly pics, jokes, anecdotes etc, funniest memes or vids (keep it under 3 minutes- Monty Python for example) or just hang-on-the-wall axes.

So to celebrate this June 13th International Axe-Throwing Day tell us a little or show us a good laugh :gc: for the awesome return of a few credits ( about 10) xD

Image Not 100% sure who this is but MIAB photographers have snapped her in this pose around Avonmora over the years ..

Anyone know who she is? (5 more credits) We did hear one rumour that she is an immigrant worker on a plantation in St Martins .. :o: .. aye - but couldn't be sure. to be sure!
EDIT:(While we understand it's Joan Crawford, we are looking to find the PG character she may represent or a PG event where this snap may have been taken ..)

( :y Thanks, Lolilta!!) For example: Was it Noffin after talking with the advisor ?

You have one week!
Last entries before reset Monday 20th June! Have fun :arr

A 16" or larger double bit thrown with both arms over head is my preferred projectile.

Pirates can practice here at Stumpy’s Hatchet House in NJ. Drink Ale and throw axes.

Also Argo the picture of the women in your post? I believe that’s Joan Crawford.
