Ahoy Everyone -
Recently we found ourselves overwhelmed and overjoyed with a number of willing and financially adept sponsors for the forums fun and games. Offering good incentives for participation, sadly, we did not have the number of participants to match the number of willing sponsors. Thats a shame bc these sponsors are willing to support the game and offer big prizes to those who do contribute. Thank you to them.
Finding a way where players feel comfortable to contribute is the purpose of this poll. We are trying to encourage you to come in and have some fun and enjoy each other as a community. There are times when the forums have been awesome good times - we want to encourage more of that...
As such.. we need a solution to some perceived problems that suggest why folk don't contribute. If we can find the problem we can find a solution or two.
The question was sent to a number of players across the map - The 10 most common replies are the poll options.
You are more than welcome to add below the poll. I will ask that you try to avoid using names, guilds or nations to identify anyone .. not that I think that's gonna help .. lol
This is not a post to enable slamming of others - the purpose is to find solution and encouragement for players to come in and play.
I have tried to be as unbiased as possible. By all means flame away in another thread...UoH and Slack are ready and waiting
You must all see this is a tad uncomfortable for me - and to those who acknowledged that b4 I did, I thanks ye .. but PG deserves it - you, the players deserve the chance to have your say and be part of the solution and a bloody decent offering from our great sponsors.

To kick things off in the spirit of what we are offering, xPro has offered prizes for poll partIcipation.
"I would offer everyone that writes an answer to the poll, 5 credit one time offer and at anytime, if the player returns to the poll to write or just talk may win gold/ship."
The catch is, your posts must contribute in a positive way to finding a solution or adding positive input, ideas, suggestions etc .. no prizes for bitchin... or stabbin ye mate with ye cutlass -
For example - one suggestion already is that there be a "Drama-Free-Area" where noobs and vets alike can discuss and learn and mentor etc without any hostile natives showing up - no derailing, hi-jacking - self seeking attention, inflaming, bullying or whatever allowed. Take it to another thread by all means.
Another was to make sure when you post you type "PARLAY" at the top which indicates you are off limits for flames and looking for help and game discussion only. If you forget to type PARLAY.. that be a bit of bad luck LOL..

Responses musr be legit and generally positive and any critisism must be legitimately constructive in nature.

Flaming results in a short temp ban from that thread if its possible to do that.


Barfight. Is no holds barred insult the daylights out of each other if you want.

Anyone can post a link from any forum thread discussions to either a parlay or barfight thread if they feel the need.

Or you can just start a thread in parlay or barfight if you
Just want to get right at it.

Also wonder if its possible to receive a notification of an invite to barfight or parlay both in your news and if you are currently participating/participated in a thread

So parlay area is a safe area for legit questions and suggestions. Moderated heavily, temp bans for abuse.

Barfight section legit duscussion should be frowned upon and moderated by flaming.

In any discyssion from any forum someone cast start a parlay
Or bar fight.

Ideally their is a button from thus that creates the thread and link to the bar figtht or parlay.

We already have that : under Forum Rules it should all be under 'Parlay' rules save for Union of Honour which equates to the proposed 'Barfight' rules.

There is a toxic level of bias currently ruling the forums. Some poster's right to be insulting, offensive and abusive is held above the TOS which forbids such.

Then another poster finds themselves reported, censored, suspended or banned for sometimes laughable reasons under those same TOS : i.e. for double-posting.

Moderation is either 'hands-off', 'not my problem to go look unless you report it' or it's hamner-time for the most pedantic of reasons and it's plain to a number of observers that who you are decides which response is forthcoming.

So, the forums have become a playground for bullies and their friends : posts are responded to not on the basis of what is posted but who posted it.

It's clannish and its unfriendly and it does not even abide by its own rules never mind any rational logic of cause and effect.

So, don't bother changing rules to create new sandpits : abide by the rules that already exist. Don't allow exceptions on the basis of some notional constitutional protection that only applies to one nation of the globe : PG is not there, most of the players and posters are not there. When you sign up for the forums you sign up to the forum TOS : you agree that those are the rules that apply. Abide by them, moderate according to them. Post according to them.

Now... how long until the first response suggesting I use the wrong gendered toilets?

Another thing that did come up which didnt make the top 10 was confusion over where to post what as flames seemed to burn everywhere.

The above Tavern, UoH and Gen Chat have a brief description. And 'guidelines' not hard rules that I can see. Are the TOS written somewhere? specifically for each? UoH is designed for fire.

Where are 'Forum Rules" - I can only find 'PG Game rules"

Lol joking. I for the most part agree.


However my thoughts are that

General posting should be somewhat flexible.
Hopefully self moderating by players using a bit of self restraint.
Even though as happens now this will not happen and im certain threads will get hijacked.

Parlay area should be highly moderated.
Players asking for guidance and techical advice,
Of serious discussion of mechsnics or well thought out suggestions.
Not to be used as a safe to post nonsense because you cant csll me out place.


General Union of honor is fine for flaming but flaming should stay somewhat on topic

Barfight ... part of union of honor, should be a place where you can be as horrible as you want within the boundries of what is allowed to be posted in the game.
