Fame Discussion

This topic is to talk about fame in general. How it works, ways it could be better, or if it is fine as is.
My personal opinion is that the general setup for Fame is close to fine as is, but maybe needs some additions or changes. As a pirate it makes sense to me that attacking a high fame player is the best way to get fame. Also that the most famous traders would generally have the most ships. But perhaps there is something better then ship count to base fame loss off of. Maybe ships on the water and influence could acquire fame, but ship count play a smaller role for how much you lose when attacked. I would also like to see a somewhat less fluid fame system. Maybe have decreasing amounts of fame exchanged for consecutive battle between two players, and overall smaller percentages.
Thoughts and opinions? I hope to condense the consensus into a development suggestion, after there is enough input.
