Well then.... this changes large scale planning quite significantly.

Where was the discussion topic on this?? I disagree with this change. But I would also love to hear the argument as to why admin thinks this is good.

Large raids with lots of voodoo takes time, planning and lots of turns.
I don't fear death. I look forward to it with great anticipation. For then I will met God face to face and let him know that I stole his Man of War!!!

I believe the max amount of turns should be 1k or 2k.

For them single pirate players that work on there own.

There was probably no discussion because at first hint of this change, I, and many others, would have piled up as many turns as we could afford.

I dont like it much : yes it encourages teamwork : but it also dismisses the single raider as an option. Will it bring more big ships out, probably, but not mine : I still dont see a practical use for them, unless I want to bump heads in an ego-stoking contest with other big ship owners. So, all in all, I feel its a retrograde step for overall game-play, forcing all players into a nice neat strait-jacket which is the desired game style.

There are ways to generate the turns needed for ongoing conflict.

As Danik says; It encourages teamwork but for those Pirates that prefer single work and are in it, for themselves like I. Seeking fame and glory across the boards - The ability to only have 600 turns would somewhat limit the ability. This is a kick, it is not the end of the world - For I am pretty sure Self Sacrifice, Death poker would give you turns, am I right?

I would much prefer though, the max limit to be 1,000 Turns - For in a single raid, you need 800 turns on your own. That is store the ships in the Private Mariner as well 600 is possible, but if anything messes up - It will be a huge waste to Pirates. I guess this is to stop players stockpiling 1000's of turns encase they get lit up - We all know one player by now who gives a great example of this. ;)

Reason 1) Single player Pirates will not be able to run mass raids - Only to attack Merchant fleets, which is something but of course, a Ship of the Line fleet is a major to Pirates.

Reason 2) If one wants to achieve something " Incredible " lets say 500 attacks in a day, this would make it impossible. Putting a limit on what Pirates can do when it comes to plunder is something that should not happen - For in real life, they could go out and pillage the plunder all they want.

Reason 3) It has been fine for a long time, why change it now? Why the sudden desire to change 'what is?'.

I do not like the way this game is going - Even with the max limit of 1,000 turns this means a player would only be able to steal one major fleet at a time. It would be 250 attacks on a few merchants, granted but it is still not as much 500.

Did not throw my large -1 in here on my first post. Glad everyone else agrees what a large, (how did Avery put it?), "'kick" this is... sounds like an accurate description to me.

I don't think I need to get into why as everyone else has and the reasons are obvious. I will say this though, would have been nice to see a discussion on this before it being slipped under our noses on christmas...

Merry Christmas Pirates?... lol...

I am assuming death poker/Self sacrifice will still work with more then 600 turns... Raids are still possible, just harder to do.

What do you say to 1000 Turns max, Vane?

It would allow up to 250 Battles - And easily be able to take a Ship of the Line fleet with extra to spend on defending if the "Special trait" comes into play against Pirates...

1,000 is much, much better.

I understand the reasoning behind reducing the turn capabilities but 600 is drastic. I would be content at Avery's suggested level of turns.

Another note... with an adjustment like this in place, I truly hope there is no more thought on giving ships stolen a cooldown timer before being sold or stored. With this update my view changes 180 on that.

I would much rather prefer to have the turns with a max limit of 1,000 and the Cooldown effect of 12 hours...
