success means that the fleet finds an abandoned ship and adds it to her fleet.
the abandoned ship is randomly chosen from those floating around and with 15 survivors in it. any damage to the new ship remains. unfortunately the officers all died from exposure. when the fleet owner has no spare captain, the fleet will stop in the port it is heading to.

a fleet of 5 ships cannot add another ship. in that case, the cheapest ship of the six will be left behind. the old captain, crew and cannons will be transferred to the new vessel. (the 15 survivors are added to the crew if that is possible) any damage to the new ship remains.


i can see this card used to slow down fleets, to help guild mates build up their fleets. to interrupt traffic etc.

that is essentially tidal wave, an already existing card. (minus the adding to fleet part)

indeed that is the difference. this adds to existing fleets.

say that a big trader gas a single cutter fleet that somehow mysteriously has been lit up. that cutter fleet finds three abandoned ships which it is unable to remove because of the danger. that trader cannot use that cutter anymore until the danger is remove or has to employ three more captains.
