I'm rightful king now. Thus why I posted the problem.

Warning Issued - This isn't the Tavern or Union of Honor. Suggesting to cast Props on someone is neither on topic nor helps resolve the issue with the mechanic. - Dez

Perhaps you can appoint an inactive Midway member and when he does not respond, I think the king can intervene.
If there is no response, a plant owner can pay the default 15 mil or perhaps even negotiate with the King.

If I'm not mistaken, doesn't the appointed Member have to have completed nation missions.

I set one of my inactives as Gov, but I don't think it will work.

The game says a rightful king can set anyone as governor. One would assume that they must be a nation member and should have completed nation missions. Otherwise, there would be no reason to do nation missions outside of the wanting to be king.

I thought they had to at least be a Duke. Odd. Isn’t that in the help section? I thought it was?

From a traditional standpoint, to be a Gov, the player has to completed nation missions (Marquess) and have the influence less than the King but more than at the number of dukes equal to the number of ports.

But if the King sets a governor, the game states that the king can select anyone. One could safely assume that anyone means anyone who is a marquess or above.

Setting governors was a means to allow a King to ignore the influence rule for governors.
