That depends, Lefty : have you fulfilled the clause governing Rightful Flatulence? It is not enough to have consumed an excess of extra-hot chilli beans, one must have purchased said beans from an approved retailer, after waiting for the designated six day cool-off period. Then they must have been prepared according to the official menu, then comsumed within three days prior to the desired flatulency period, which has been, naturally, notified to and approved by the Rightful Governor upon payment of the necessary tithe.

See... simples!

Hey Dez you know how it says that if you fail to negotiate with the governor then talk to the King? And how It seems that in your case the King isn’t able to renegotiate, well have other Kings been able to do so if a governor is absent or have they always just replaced the governor with someone more active? Or is it an incomplete issue and that’s why you are now running into all these issues. Is that what’s going on?

This is a legit issue. Without a rightful king, no permissions will be given. Times of turmoil.

2) The result being several plantations in Kanoni were destroyed, or so my events indicated.

You cannot get a plantation destroyed because of no permission. Permission only affects production. In fact, because there is no production, the plantation health is improved.

Correct

As for the op problem, I am not sure If there is a bug. I fail to understand the problem(s).

My personal belief is, and as I understand the issue, the countdown clock was reset a number of times from queries made to the governor.

As the RL Gov set was no longer in that nation and, there was not a suitable candidate to replace the RL gov, typically, the game will default to 15 mil auto permission, but it takes 48 hrs for this to happen.

If the renter again asks for re-negotiation or permission again, the clock will reset to 48 hrs
auto permission again.
If the Gov fails to respond, as in this case, I think a blank screen is seen by the renter as their request is still waiting in the non existent govs inbox and they again, reset the 48 hr countdown clock

I was able to get a permission despite the lack of RL gov by making sure I did not interupt the countdown clock after my initial request for premission

Interesting to know. I was under assumption without food, lodging or bath, workers would wither and die confined to a non operational plantation not interspersed with the regular port populace

All are fully operational during no permission period. The only thing that permission affects is the production. Production is halted - workers do not go to work. This is also a playable scenario for those that want to trade workers. You do not need to have Operating permissions for this endeavor. A nice simulation for smugglers :P

They still eat, bath, sleep and get entertainment. The hours not spent at work, are spent at the rest. In this case all hard caps are met. For example, you cannot sleep for 16 hours a day. The extra hours mostly work like rest. Since the worker does not tire, he gets back to his best health faster.

Sorry was out most of the day, and haven't checked the forums.

Just as a note, the marquess and above doesn't work as stated in the game. I as the rightful king have selected players who have not completed nation missions and at next update, they were appointed governor. I think that this working as it does should be acceptable. The rightful king/queen should be able to appoint whoever they want regardless of nation missions, as long as they are a member of the nation.

The original issue is that there was no human governor, resulting from a very specific set of circumstances (I was previous gov, took the port pirate, then became king of new nation), and thus when players tried to submit OP requests, it provided a blank page and they couldn't submit the request. This "self" resolved, once a governor was appointed, but still created an unrealistic issue that shouldn't have occurred.

Stan was correct for the countdown portion when I bumped the topic, but that wasn't the problem. Lola was the appointed governor via the Chancellor selection but was no longer part of the nation. As she was not part of the nation, she could no longer accept permissions, but players were able to submit permissions and resubmit utilizing the countdown without issue. That part is an inconvenience, but was not the problem.

Once I removed Lola from my Chancellor selection and had no governor set for Seaglory, the blank page issue was reported to me via PM to occur again from a player. They couldn't resubmit permissions after their first submission expired. When they would try to submit, it returned a blank page as it did the first time the issue occur. This was again short lived when I appointed Hightop as the governor via the Chancellor, permissions were once again able to be submitted.

Being able to work around the issue doesn't make the issue resolved.

A rightful King/Queen should be able to approve Plantation Operating Permissions under the below conditions:

1) No governor because there are no players in nation that are marquess or greater
2) No governor appointed to the port via the Chancellor
3) If the governor doesn't respond.

Alternatively, as another option. If a nation has a rightful King/Queen, but has no eligible players to fill the role of Governor, the King/Queen should be listed as the Governor, until someone completed nation missions and can fill the role or is appointed to the position.
I'm only here for Game Development and Forum Moderation.

If you see a forum rule violation, report the post.

You need to be a Marquess or greater. King's selection overrides anything else as long as the king is rightful. Have you tried assigning a Marquess and the game ignored you?

This is acceptable. Governors are assigned daily. A Governor who departed will not be able to respond anyway. We could possibly make it that the place evacuates right away, when a governor leaves but I do not see any gameplay further improvement here. It would just remove the spam requests. Which could have been avoided if the sending player actually checks the Governor before sending the request. Therefore I am not sure I should do this though, some chaos on such case sounds like a real deal/nice simulation.

No. This is completely unrealistic/too convenient. When the King/Queen was in England and something happened in a colony, the turmoil could last for years. Here it lasts for a day. It's fine. You assume that the King/Queen can insta communicate and settle things. The game assumes that this can happen within a few days. In another approach, this is the penalty for political instability, paid in lost production. Totally planned.

Unless there is a bug with Marquess assignment, we should continue any discussion around this on Game Discussion and not in Bugs thread.
