What is a Ghost Ship

Image

A ghost ship maybe known as a phantom ship, it's a ship with no living crew on board. Although some of these ships also dissappear without trace, lost on the deep blue. Many different theories have been brought up about the mysterious way these ships have dissappeared and/or how and why they were abandoned.

History of Ghost Ships

In and around Avonmora ghost ships are one of the most popular subjects, especially in the taverns at night. However, what was once and still is a very strange case is sometimes overlooked. Given the reputation of the Avonmora Triangle many have been accustomed to the many disappearances of both man and ship. The first recorded ghost ship was that of Mordag. The famous fleet combined of four Ship of the Lines and one Man'o'war which has finally stopped its endless journey, it was sunk under mysterious circumstances. Since then many ghost ships and fleets have disappeared and many have been found resting on the seas.

Top Five (5) Disappearances

A lot of things can happen at sea, bad weather, mutiny, pirate attacks, sea monster and (definitely) getting lost in the Avonmora Triangle.

Perhaps it's no surprise that 100's of ships have turned up without crew, abandoned without any signs of struggle. From unmanned ghost ships that have been found crew less on the high seas to a triple disappearance, these five(5) abandoned vessels have one thing in common: Strange and seemingly unexplainable secrets.

5.HMS Swadoff

HMS Swadoff: One of Spain most powerful Man of War, set sail from their (previous) capital port of Chalkos,on day 365 the ship was never seen again. Without any trace of it and no wreckage found this is surely one of the greatest ship disappearances.

4.Cyclops
:

When a fleet of four(4) Ship of the Line and a Man of War mysteriously dissapeared without any explanation there is only one place to remember, the Triangle. Yet another powerful fleet owned by Mordag which was sunken or so they claim.

3.Rasec Magre(Clone)

Image

An American Brig of War that met with another ship in the Avonmora Triangle. The other ship was moving in full speed but strangely had nobody on board. Maybe not the most dramatic of the list. However, this ship was used to trade iron for provisions in settlements along the north coast of Chalkos, the Resac Magre was no stranger to harsh conditions. This large merchantmen had just been freed from pack ice a week earlier when it got stuck even worse on day 10, leading over half of its crew to abandon it while 15 remained to wait out the winter nearby in a wooden shelter that they built. When a blizzard struck on day 25, the ship was later found to be missing and assumed sunken… but it turned up three days later, 45 miles away. The crew gathered up the cargo and abandoned the ship, believing it wouldn’t survive the winter, but once again it did not sink. Over the next several months.....years, sightings of the ship were reported all over the coast, and some people even boarded the ship. It was last seen stuck in ice off the Coast of St Martin on day 1321. Did it finally sink? Maybe – or maybe it will turn up once again.

2.Lochness

Image

This is another ghost ship of Avonmora Triangle which created one of the biggest maritime mysteries of all times. While returning from "The Avonmora Herald Paper Factory" in Pania and sailing to Twin Square in Tzogos in January, it was found abandoned and derelict at Sera Shoals, off Cape Liguanne in North Aiora. But all the crewmen including the captain were missing a total of 250 crew members. They vanished for ever and never to be found again.

1.Tier 32 Large Frigates and GG Resac Mariner

Image

Definitely the most mysterious of all the ships on the list, the Large Frigates of Tier-32 set sail from the U.S Naval Base of Seaglory for a routine training session on an afternoon, but strangely this time they never returned. When all hopes for the above Tier-32 Large Frigates were quickly fading, two GG Mariner Ace (War Ship) were sent by US Navy to search them out. One came back, but the other didn't and disappeared forever. Three ships disappearing without trace?Whst could have caused this?

Hope? Lost? Piracy? Mutiny? What could have caused 100's of ships to have mysteriously dissapeared into thin air. I leave you to try and figure that out.

Aye.. I remember that night. Mordag's prize war fleet was on the run, heavily damaged and making a mad dash for port. As the sun rose, I was laying in wait with my fleet, six miles off the coast. On the far channel, I could see the Pirate Zombie's fleet, with the same idea, but just one step behind. Tonight would be my score. As my lookout reported an array of sails breaching the horizon and my crew erupted into cheers.. not a second later he reported a dense fog approaching from the south. Fast as any storm front, but with not even a five knot wind sliding under my hat. Feeling a creep of unease rolling down my shoulders, I immediately went down to my shaman. His craft would help keep track of the prize fleet.. but I had a feeling he may be needed for more then that this battle. I entered his cabin to see him laying on the deck, shivering and mumbling incoherently . To this day I don't know if he was simply ill, or if there was something darker at play, but he has no recollection of the night or morning of. Summoning the young witch who traveled with him, I bade her to consult the runes on the position of the fleet.. as I heard the lookout shout out that the fog was upon us. The young witch was useless though, looking at the runes briefly in confusion, before pandering to the ill Shaman. I resolved right then to throw them both overboard before nightfall, perhaps inport, perhaps not, as the shaman had served me fairly well in the past few month. All thoughts of such fled my mind though as I stepped out an abyss of grey. I could not see my hand nay three inches from my face.. I had experienced such a fog once before, yet the feeling of this one could not compare in any was. Not even ten seconds later the haze receded, fading away before I even had the mind to give orders. My crew was none the worse, simply holding the expression on their faces that I felt in my core. The fleet on the horizon however, the fleet was gone. Not a sail to be seen, despite the looking claiming that the mast of the lead Man of War was visible not twenty moments ago. Bellowing out commands we made full sail for the horizon, as there is no Man of War that could outrace my fleet upwind. Not even with the lead they had.

We searched for three days. Even eventually coordinating with Zombie to cut them off if they had foolishly attempted to flee to open water. Upon the lesser pirates flooding the waters, hearing rumors of a Prize war fleet float, I and my crew finally gave up chase, never outright talking of the night again. A Man of War and four ship of the lines, with a total crew of over three hundred. Vanished, without a trace, and no debris to speak of. After that rumors ran wild, many of my crew believed the lookout just imagined it, or worse, saw the ghost of the fleet, attempting to finish it's final journey. Along the same route there were other claimed sightings for about a year. But I give little weight to ghost stories once spun.

And needless to say, I now always climb the nest and lay eyes on my prey with my own spyglass, before trusting the word of even the most vigilant lad.
