Very interesting. It would be nice to have the events reported by other players too, of course :-)

A fully functional ZomB with active operations, regular watch routines, and at least 20 active pirates eager to pillage at any given moment, would not have been able to be toppled by one player. Ask Larry the lounge lizard whose sole purpose for years was to mess with Maj and Zomb.

Yes you are correct in regards to a lone wolf versus a group of determined pirates. I will have you know, my intent was not to topple PK/Zomb, but to be a pain in the buttocks. Consistent in my actions, not wavering/waffling like so many do when push comes to shove. I think I did quite nicely.....seeing how I am still here. And the others have mostly faded away or changed accounts. However, I used to respect my opponents more back then..so I felt they deserved a better/longer response from me. I do not respect Roberts/Avery in the same way and do not consider him worthy of opponent status. Just something that has to be endured while playing this game. So please continue to school this attention starved pirate. His only validity it seems is to prove he is right and everyone else is wrong. There are many ways to play this game. And not all want to hear someone telling them how to play. I hope he finds another game to occupy his energy soon. Pirates Glory would be better off I think.
I like hearing about the older days groggy. Please enlighten us more.

Is it really that the game has changed and there is less respect for enemies, or that people are just being spoon fed nostalgia as in any gaming community with players who played before others?

Frankly, the way I see it. Things haven't changed and neither has the attitude.

The good old days were rarely that good, certainly no better than today : nostalgia does add the rose-tinted glow required, it's true.

Certainly true. If you wanna see what it was like, go down Union of Honor's first posts and see how the old players were. It is not anymore admirable than nowadays Union of Honor posts.

Especially when the people commentating about how good the old community was themselves participated in degrading and harassing the people they hit.

sometimes communities as they get bigger you meet more people that are toxic then aren't im a serious gamer here ive played games where the community gets toxic then people get mad at the devs of the game for it being that way then the toxic players move on leaving the non toxic players behind to live how they want to and it will come and go in waves plus if you look into the past there are just about the same number of toxic threads but if you notice the people that made those threads are gone and a new player base if around and the nice players are still around

Weenie, I have a recommendation. Use periods and commas and structure your sentences with the most basic of grammar. No one can read it. Much like your many descriptions, it is like a mess of words with no breaks or organization.

Even if you used it wrong and put a comma instead of a period, it would still be much better than doing nothing.

Who gives a crap you don't use punctuation often most don't it's still easy enough to read within your head unless if your an illiterate who has to read out load and by the punctuation to make it sound correct everyone can usually tell what you mean when you don't use punctuation

That is a load of lazy, ignorant and selfish bollocks. If you want people to understand what you write, and what you mean by it, then punctuation is necessary. A four-line sentence totally lacking in any punctuation of any kind is not easy to comprehend in one, two or even three readings. To call those who struggle doing so 'illiterate' is so damned arrogant and plain-headed wrong, I almost assume it was said for comedic effect. The stream of consciousness does require a consciousness to be an effective communication tool . Try using yours or else it just turns into verbal diarrhoea.

Tell that to the examiners that will mark your Exams.

Especially under the SPAG questions.
