70k per attack is not enough....

Hit a merchant with 50 fleets, chances are he has enough gold to hold off the first wave. So you've probly plundered 3-4 mill right there.

now 50 attacks x 70k = 3.5m

Total of: 6m - 7.5m profit and that is not enough? Your not after the right targets mate.

Plus it is already easy enough to steal ships, 50% more purse drain is crazy...

What I would do is go pirate use this to steal all of someone's gold then go back to beung in iom if it was worth it and yes it is insane to say an extra 50% increase in gold income off the fleets

New Stats for a Named Pirate Flag Ship

[*] Speed Class = Very Fast
[*] HP = 1,000 at level 10
[*] Crew = 200
[*] Cannons = 44
[*] "IS" leviathanable down to level 1. (like an MoW)
[*] Cannot be commandeered. (like an MoW)
[*] 5% boost to attack strength on attack roll. (a permanent bless, stackable with 2 x bless)
[*] If plundered by any other player it reverts back to "Frigate" stats and name.

This will make the ship maneuverable, strong enough to beat merchant fleets with escorts most of the time, strong enough to compete with a SotL 1v1, but not able to walk through a solid war fleet of 2-3 x Sotl's plus other ships. It will also benefit from "Advanced Piracy" as it is a Frigate.

How is it too strong?

Less crew than a Lrg. Frigate

Less Cannons than a SotL

Less HP than a SotL

To me, these all add to make it compete with a Sotl, it would still likely lose unless other things were utilized like techs and voodoo.

Right. Everyone is losing ships today, trading would be impossible with such a ship. Also, since piracy is already more lucrative than trading, such a ship would make EVERYONE be a pirate.

Wait... I think I got something wrong there... ;-)

Think about this a pirate can defleet a trader entirely within a day not think about doing that quicker with less turns spent that is what makes it op if you add the boost because you spend less in turns getting the gold down

Didn't say everyone was losing ships, I said it was easy "enough". If you make it easier, EVERYONE would become a pirate and begin stealing ships. This is bad for the game. In my opinion a ratio of 85% trader to 15% Pirates if that is ideal.

The balance now is just fine. There are pirates who know whats good for the game. If they were to take ships every day or 2, players quit, they stop trading, they change sides........ all BAD...
