A problem with the game is allowing this.

Fleets:

No fleets.. No ships. What is the point of this person playing. I mean not playing, but still casting voodoo. Obviously there are too many dual/ghost/sold to highest bidder/ accounts in the game. That is why it is dying. This issue needs to be addressed by admin...or does it? :?:

Should we change the name to fishing glory? Perhaps voodoo glory? Bankers glory? Goldsmith glory? But definitely no Pirates glory. Because I see no pirates glory involved in the game play anymore. My two cents.. go spend it how you like.

I wonder who this could be : Could it be morningsun!

Eh, Some players just like to talk and discuss things : If they are needed they come online to cast voodoo... Aye its a waste, but you get a hell of a kick from it ( Not meant in a weird way - A fun way ) I was once a player like that : All i had was a sloop.
Civilian:Are you insane? One pirate against trained pirates... Who do you think this man is? God?
My Leader: No. God would have mercy. He won't.

That would be a pirate in training with just a learning permit.

There are no dual/ghost/sold to highest bidder/ accounts in the game. Now, we do not keep record of any account selling practices and we will never keep (as we cannot know) but as long as we are concerned, the multiplay rule is kept to its best.

Also, the game is not dying, in contrary there is a big influx of new players that are actively growing to high standards and who will put good competition for the veterans of the game in the future.

Please, do not resort into such posts as they mostly seem like trolling. General assumptions in this way - which are poor and lack any real argument - only create a bad image for the game and especially for the clueless newcomers.

Also, we are very active as administration and we have proven all these years that we communicate with the playerbase for all issues and we provide immediate solutions where needed. Therefore no hate is needed, just suggestions on how to improve any situation. Thank you for taking in mind my words.

Now, on to the topic again and the issue you just put.

We agree that having players with no ships, only casting voodoo is counter-productive for the game. From there after, we need to narrow down the reasons and the size of the issue at hand. Specifically:
  • Is it an isolated event? I mean, perhaps it is a vengeance act and/or a specific player doing so for valid or invalid reasons?
  • How damaging this practice is to you for you current and future play and fun? Do you have sufficient means to counter this?
  • How possible is that this practice will be kept by current or more individuals? Is it productive/fun for them?
  • What can we do to improve the situation, if needed? Any ideas at mind?

Sorry to have an opinion that is not politically correct. But never the less it is my opinion. If such independent thoughts are not allowed to be expressed in the forums...then so be it. That will be to the detriment of the game. I do not believe you can police all the players and the "transactions" that take place. My point being that some players are taking advantage of the lax enforcement of supposed rules you establish.

Many suspicious sales of worthless voodoo for extreme credits have been taking place. A way to transfer credits from ghost/dual accounts to other accounts. The players that have no ships or fleets are basically casting voodoo for others who do not have the voodoo. Is that not a hard situation to define. Is it voluntary or compensated?

Also please explain this: 02 Hours 47 Mins Bermuda Barnabas Sackett (#46675) Hellas Administrator (#1) . An attack on administration has always been forbidden and punished severely. I have seen this a few times lately. Is this still the case? Or are new players taking advantage of the situation?

There is a tab to report suspicious battles. Why is there no follow up on those reports? I.E. why is no one asking player base about the reports they have submitted anymore?

"Therefore no hate is needed, just suggestions on how to improve any situation. Thank you for taking in mind my words."

What you see as hate , I see as constructive criticism. Stop being so sensitive. Or change your name to Captain Jackie. Haha , that's a joke in case you didn't enjoy my comments.

for the record i would just like to say that whenever i would report any suspicious activity in the game, the admin was always very quick to reply and take action, if necessary. the point is, if you see something fishy going on, report it and let the admin take care of it. the result is not always to my liking, but i am content that the rules are being enforced, or at the very least, when someone speaks up, the admin listens. it is reasonable to believe that it is in their best interest that everyone is playing by the rules. maybe they just need help policing everybody, and that's where we all come in as players. it may or may not be the point of this thread, but just my two cents.

You can have any opinion you like. I only implied that whenever you target the game calling it that is dying as you said, do it with concrete evidence. Many people get carried away by such statements and it is also commonly used to press administration over an issue. For us, it is indeed pressing as it creates a false image to the newcomers of the game for which we strive to keep. Currently,as I said above, we have many promising newcomers that are daily active and it is simply unfair for the game.

You also implied that administration is not doing its job right. This falls into administration baiting. If you feel we are not doing something right, contact us privately and let us know.

So yes, please whenever you have such independent thoughts keep them for yourself or share them privately (with us, it is okay). Sharing them in this way in the forums is only creating a false image for the game at all newcomers.

You are right here, this is why we ask all players to help. This is why we provide some monitoring tools to the players. Limited cheating might take place and it is impossible to have a completely cheat-free game. What we mostly do here is to ensure that no one has an unfair advantage over anyone through cheating. This, we can guarantee.

All voodoo sales are recorded permanently. This means that we have a file that contains all voodoo sales till now. You should be aware that the voodoo market is hardly used to transfer credits. If anyone does this, it does it to transfer voodoo cards as you can transfer credits in an easier way. We checkup such transactions on long intervals currently and penalties might be late but we are creating a system to make it easier to report. Specifically, all players will get access to the full history file soon and a report icon will be created nearby so you will be able to report in the style you do with battle reports. I hope you appreciate this.

Please, do not publicly accuse anyone about anything. This is an instant warning and edit out. I am only saving you from this because you will then accuse me of afraid to respond, something I do not want. To respond to you, attacks on administration are not allowed. However, there is a fleet we have where it specifically mentions that you can attack it. You can never win this fleet though so it is up to the players risk to do it. They will lose the battle and get a danger penalty. Such cases are anyway few as this fleet does not appear frequently. Although the specific battle is a different case. Rest assured however that no one is taking advantage of the situation.

We only ask if we need further info. We receive many reports. We cannot reply to all so we do not reply to any. This is perfectly explained here: viewtopic.php?p=3796&f=2#p3796

I have no problem with comments and we take them in mind. As a result of your comments, I have given bigger priority to the history file of the voodoo market system where players will be able to report. You are not the first to bring this up.

I will simply ask for this simple thing:
-If you have suspicions of anyone cheating, send us a message. Privately with all the info you have. You have my word that we checkup ALL reports we receive.

We do not always have time to respond to player critic and we generally avoid it but we can do it for once. I am going to change the topic title as I do not see it being covered at all. Feel free to ask us about anything. Please avoid accusing any other player.

Players are now able to report whatever it might seem like exploitation for quicker resolution.
