This is an index to help you in keeping track of all the near future forthcoming updates. This is going to help you to adjust your strategies in time for them. Updates that do not affect gameplay (like improvements on interface, new statistics, etc) are not going to be included here.

I will order them all by estimated implementation time.

October 7, 2013 - Concluded, Check Changelog for details
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
1)Make last player's ship lootable

2)Black Death and Transport immigrants will affect 1% of population instead of 5%. Relative missions in titles quest, are going to be slightly tweaked to match the change.

3) Huge Feature #1 [Base Version Implemented]- Nation Control Expansion (Laws, Economics, Stats, etc)

4)Huge feature #2 - Hideout HQ - Special Buildings - Gold Resource

5) Bank System

These are not yet fully ready and last time issues may arise, therefore we give a week period on when to expect them.

I would like to suggest that Transport Immigrants should increase 2% or 3% to offset additionally attacks on ports that any player may undertake outside missions. Usually the rate of population increase is always larger and the rate of long periods of disease. While large plagues happen in some cases they are more rare and not so concentrated. If plagues were as common as the voodoo allows eventually plague would destroy everything.

These cards are counter to each other and they are both common. This is why they should be equal. The reason for the wimp is that we do want to limit severe population changes.

Furthermore, if Transport Immigrants is stronger than Black Death, we will end up with billions of citizens in every port which will translate into billions in the nation treasuries, something that will inflate the game.

Also, except some major disasters (announced a long time ago) whenever huge population growth takes place. (not scripted yet).

Finally, remember that population growth is also possible through Build Up port.

We are progressing well on the Law system and nation control addons. The development time spent so far is reasonable as the feature ended up considerably larger than initial planning (thanks to our suggestions as well). We also decided to redesign the nation page(not yet available to you). There will be no radical delays though and it should be completed soon.

I have updated the dates to match our newly expected time completion.

Finally, as the feature is large enough, it will move the game version by 0.1 once implemented (not planned to do so initially).

Update on Law System development
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Despite our excellent progress, there is still a lot of work on the Law System. It is a huge feature after all - something we have realized only recently. To give you an idea, it is a lot bigger than the Governor's Daughter feature and comparable to Treasure Hunt feature (which took months). We will try to launch it tomorrow, we are working on it nonstop.

We have completed most of the mechanisms. We are still debugging though - We want to avoid any hiccups.

In the last daily update, we debugged various nation statistics. In this update we are going to activate and beta-test tax income from NPC citizens (and players tax - only on Administrator account though). All income from NPC citizens will go normally to each country treasury which means that TAX PAYING CITIZENS stat will be calculated normally today.

If you wish to BOOST your country tax income or NERF a rival's country tax income, this is a good time to start.

These will be the first 2 laws that will be activated by default for all countries as mentioned here: viewtopic.php?p=9105#p9105

We have changed the title of the forthcoming update to Nation Control Expansion.

We had to rewrite big chunks of the code for what we are about to release as many things had to change in the database as well. Here are some details:
-Nation extra statistics run for many days now.
-Taxation runs for 3 days already.
-Most of the interface is done.

Most probably we will release the expansion later today. We still have to finish some options in the voting results. Whichever the case, what you need to know is that

SHIP TAXATION for NATIONS starts today.
The rules are:
-Affects only players that have spent 1000 turns or more.
-100 gold coins per ship. (Active nations will be able to change this or even remove the tax)
-Payment will take place during upkeep.
-Payment will be set to manual for the first 3 updates. Which means that everyone can choose not to pay it. After this, it will be switched to automatic which will be the default option for all. A notice will be generated.
-Players will be able to switch this to automatic through finances (upkeep) page. (Option not yet available). The debts, even if not paid and even if no penalties apply will remain till they are paid or cleared by the nation officials.
-The default law that has been applied to all nations apply no penalties if a citizen does not pay this tax. Active nations will be able to change this later.
-There will be 2 possible penalties to choose from:
1)Hostility points
2)Monetary fines
