[Concluded] Forthcoming Updates

Here is a list of upcoming changes.

1)Plunder pauses a trade route instead of terminating it.

2)When a fleet is docked in a port, only current port counts for plunder (currently, last visited port also counts). Previous and next port policy will be maintained only when a fleet is still travelling.

3)Voodoo Card Changes
-Rotten food turns cost increase to 3
-Call Leviathan turns cost increase to 18

4)Ship building costs in materials doubled
Ie, a howker now needs 80 wood, 8 iron, 3 tools, 20 cotton. After the change, it will need 160 Wood, 16 Iron, 6 tools, 40 cotton

5)Cargo increase for:
-War Galleon (from 60 to 80)
-Flag Galleon (from 60 to 100)

6)Resource generation and price changes will take place every 3 days (instead of 1 as it currently is).

These updates will take place within the first 2 weeks of June.

In regards to new features implementation, we expect the Treasure Hunt feature to be released this week.

1) & 2) implemented.

Do note that for 2), an existing fleet will have to move in order to adapt to the new rule.

For example,
If you have a fleet in Tortuga which came from Vaasburg, it will currently be available in both ports.
However, if you move (now or in the future and for every case from now on) the fleet to Kanoni then:
-While it travels, it will be available for plunder to both Kanoni and Tortuga.
-Once it reaches Kanoni, it will be available only to Kanoni.

This is expected to reduce available targets in plunder screens. However with the current traffic increase, we are hoping to maintain interest in this front. Surely, it will require greater effort from players to find targets.

However, this adds to realism as we get rid of a rule that did not make sense de facto.

All updates completed.

Today's resource generation/price update will take place normally. We will update values/schedule for this tomorrow morning.
Once it is updated, it will be announced in the changelog system.

with resources required doubled new comers well not have enough to build their first ship you should increase the amount they get in their home port warehouse

1.0.12: Doubled the starting resources in warehouse for starting players.

This was never the case. The trade routes never terminated or you would only be able to attack them one time and it would stop with certain curses..And that was not the case.I think that the new change has affected a pirates abilities in ways that are disappointing. For example:
If you use hostile natives on someone and they get plundered and their trade route gets paused...
How does an attack continue? Am I misunderstanding the effects of this change? Please someone enlighten me.

You are wrong, trade routes were terminated.
  • Any fleet that was on a trade route and received a plunder attack, no matter if that was successful or not, would have its trade route destroyed.
  • With this change, this trade route is paused, instead of destroyed.
  • The only reason that you were able to attack multiple times is that the common offensive voodoo Fugitive of Justice adds the danger no matter if the fleet is moving or not.
  • If you can't take my word, just ask the dozens of merchants that had to re-program their trade routes once they got attacked.

So there is no real effect on gameplay other than easy re-start of trade routes for the owner.
The only effect it has on gameplay, is that Flood voodoo card now has a slightly upgraded role as it is now the only way to destroy a player's trade route.
