Suggestions & Community Input

Ahoy Mateys!
Game Development is a crucial part of any game. Without out it bugs don't get fixed, existing features don't get improved upon, and new features are not implemented. The key to all of this is the community, the player base. Now obviously a game could develop new features and update existing ones, without the community, but doing so has some significant drawbacks. Any good development team will listen to and consider the ideas and suggestions of the community. Not every idea and suggestion will be implemented, but the input from the community is invaluable. Which brings me to the reason I'm posting this Announcement.
The Player Dev Team is working through a backlog of suggestions. Our primary task at hand is to clean up the hundreds of suggestion topics from the last page of the suggestions forum to the first. At the time of this post there are 19 pages with 460 Topics that must be reviewed. The process is extensive as we must read through the entire topic, verify the purpose of the suggestion, determine if the idea presented is worthwhile to include any related points contained within the topic by other posters, and then provide our vote/opinion on the topic. On top of that, our decisions on a topic must meet a voting threshold before actions are taken, there are some exceptions to this, but those are in regards to duplicate ideas and suggestions that aren't actually suggestions. This is where community input is the most vital as our team is of a limited size, our points of view are not the same (beneficial in its own right but can stop progress on a topic when we can't come to a consensus), and we don't see every perspective.
We, the Player Dev Team, are asking the community to become more involved in suggestions and game development as a whole. Don't just +1 or -1 a suggestion. Provide your opinion on any open suggestion, especially a suggestion that is marked "Review". Your input can be, and has been, the deciding factor on suggestions, whether it be rejected, approved, or needs more discussion. For those of you that already provide input, please continue to do so.
You can find a list of all current suggestions marked for review by following the link here: Dev Review Topics
Off topic, but if there is interest in joining the Player Dev Team, please reach out to any member of the team and/or Captain Jack.
As a final point, keep in mind that part of the purpose of the Player Dev Team is to pick up the duties and responsibilities of managing game development that was previously done entirely by Captain Jack so that he could spend more time coding the features and updating the game. The communities support of the Dev Team and input into suggestions is necessary for this purpose to succeed.
If there are any questions. Please let me know in Slack or In-game.
Thank You,
Dez
