[Implemented] Fame Formula update

After popular demand on an issue that needed update, we are announcing the first revision (ever) for the fame formula. More may follow in the near future, till we decide it is good enough.

For the sake of giving you time to prepare for the change, we will allow 10 days to pass before we implement this.
Which sets our Implementation day no sooner than Monday 13, April 2015. Expect it to happen till Wednesday 15, April 2015.

Two ways to earn Fame.

Way 1: Fame earned through Gold Spending

-1 point of Fame earned for every 1000 gold coins spent.



Way 2: Fame earned through Battles

-Fame Loss: (10% of total Fame) / (Number of Ship  owned by loser/25) -> Winner loots half of this
-Maximum fame loss this way: 10% of total fame per attack


Fame Protection at 25 points completely removed.

The list of all Gold Spending actions that give you fame (up to now):
-Ship construction / upgrades
-Hideout construction
-New Cannons
-Crew/Worker hire
-Build Up port
-Resource purchase
-Warehouse construction / upgrades
-Officers Hire
-Nation Taxes


A sample list of events (defined as Simple Transactions and not spending) that do not give you fame:
-Lose gold to battle
-Deposits / Send Payments / Loan Installments


The fame limit protection at 25 points has been completely removed as we ended up that loopholes of exploitation would remain with it.

Quick question for you. Can you now be attacked infinitely as your fame will only approach zero but never hit it (mathematically speaking), and is there a limit to how many times you can be hit such as all your ships and all the cash you have on hand?

I believe that there is a mistake with the fame lose formula. Unless I am mistaken, wouldn't the loser be losing more than 10% of their fame if they have less than 25 ships?

This formula is awful from a pirates perspective. There can no longer be famous pirates in the game do to always losing 10% of fame since "true pirates" run very few ships.

This just pushes them in the merchant direction if fame is something they seek. I understand the points behind changing the formula and creating it in a way so wealthy merchants with hundreds of ships maintain fame easier as a sign of their progress and well, for lack of a better term, fame.

To combat this, I would ask that a new stat such as "Infamy" be added for the pirates. Infamy would be earned for each attack executed skirmish and plunder, while a percentage is lost every 24 hours or something. Pirates would have a stat board to try and stay at the top of and would be required to attack merchants often to do this. I could see more action coming from a new stat such as this.

The new stat you propose is not a bad idea imo. Why don't you open a new discussion about it though? It will help into attracting more interest from the rest of the playerbase.
