Forum Moderator Needed

Greetings everyone,

The forums have reached a state where we are in need of a forum moderator.

This is a position of responsibility and the first forum moderator ever will need some special characteristics.

Here is a full list of requirements, the more you meet, the better:
-Fluency in English
-At least 14 years of age
-Prior Experience to forums moderation will be a positive element
-Familiar with the forums already
-Understanding of the rules (Game + Forum)
-Ideas for how the forums should be run
-Time at hand
-Understanding of the basics of Pirates Glory
-Full awareness of game menus
-Full awareness of forum threads and the role of each one
-Hunger for the position
-Understanding of the difficulty and responsibility that a forum moderator position has.

The tasks the particular forum moderator will have:
1)Manage the forums
This means that you have to read every topic and reply, making sure the forum rules are kept. You may also have to move/lock/edit posts according to needs and forum rules. You may need to issue warnings/bans to players that repeadetly violate forum rules.

2)Special for these days: Voodoo Forum Organization
We will create a voodoo cards forum thread and the chore the forum moderator will get will be to create one topic per voodoo card. The cards will be about 50 so its 50 topics (with voodoo title + description). About 1~2 hours chore.

3)Promote the forums usage through the game + forums. We need an active community and always a good forum moderator is the one to create the prequisites for this.

I actually overlooked the "private" message by mistake on my first read through, but afterwards I copy and pasted my post to that person specifically in a private message exactly after posting here.. That was about 4 hours ago. I am human; I do make mistakes..

Well, in fact we are still looking for a forum mod.

Right now, the biggest problem with the forums is the necessity of topics to be moved to the right thread. Many times I move topics around, in order to be organized.

Second issue at hand, is some strong language used scarcely. As the forum grows, players need to undertake the role of detecting such posts and edit/warn as needed.

Third issue at hand, is the suggestion thread where it needs some further moderation work. Such as merging same ideas, tagging/moving implemented ones to the appropriate section etc.

Right now, from the people that DO post in the forums, I have singled out some names that would be ideal for this work, based on their performance so far.

These are (in no particular order):
-Black Sparrow
-Captain Dungeness
-Xepshunall
-Hawk
-Sir Henry Morgan
-Xanadu
-Roileon perhaps

There may be more suitable that just don't make it to the top of my mind right now. This is just a sample list to understand the profile of players I am interested in getting for the position.

Of course, If any of you (names on the list) is interested in the position, the better. Other players should still send. Part of the process of reviewing an application is to search through all user posts; what you have posted so far counts.

Our previous mods have been Hellfire and Phil. Phils has been an excellent choice as he had a very structured way in writing his thoughts. He was also accepted by most, a trait that Hellfire did not enjoy. Hellfire was not a full mod anyway, he was just responsible for the Tavern roleplay. Both however were not that active.

Like I said, this is a chore which means that you are going to give your time for this community. It is also a privilege and a responsibility. If you are up to this, then send a PM.

So far, the only PM I received is the one from Aaron Stratos. I am not used in such low interest. In other communities I manage, usually there are dozens of applicants. This is why I chose to give full details and my thoughts on the issue as I am looking for some more interest.
