Postby Captain Jack » Fri May 25, 2012 8:24 am

Here is a list of imminent additions/changes to the game:

1.Voodoo card Change
-Rotten Food voodoo card will be replaced with a new card which will be as follows:
Name: Inside Man
Target Type: Fleet
Rarity: Common
Turns needed: 3
Description:
Card Ability: Piercing ( viewtopic.php?f=16&t=302 )
Reveal all ship details and composition of target fleet

2.New common Voodoo Card
Name: Transport Immigrants
Target Type: Port
Rarity: Common
Turns Needed: 8
Description:
Target port population is increased by 5%

3.New Uncommon Voodoo Card
Name: Conspiracy
Target type: Port & Nation
Rarity: Common
Turns needed: 8
Target Nation loses 2.5% of total influence in Target Port (Affects Top 10 most influential players of target nation with more than 1000 influence in target Port)

4.New Rare Voodoo card
Name: Pirate Tales ( viewtopic.php?f=16&t=220 )
Target Type: Player
Rarity: Rare
Turns Needed: 3
Ability: Undercover ( viewtopic.php?f=16&t=221 )
Steal a random amount (1% ~ 3%) of fame from target player

5.Voodoo card tweak - Postponed
Affected Card: Thieving Magpie
Tweak: Steal a random voodoo card from target player will become:
Steal target voodoo card from target player.
Turns Needed will become 5 instead of 3.

6.Minor voodoo card tweaks
Crystal Ball: 3 Turns instead of 1
Enlightened Vision: 3 Turns instead of 2
Trade Master: 3 Turns instead of 1
Human Rights: 3 turns instead of 8
Buried Treasure: 2000 Gold instead of 1000

7.Patrol to extend available PC targets in Plunder page
If a port has 11 or more available targets, players will be able to extend this list through patrol.
The extended list will cost 2 turns per slot with no limit on maximum. It will last till update (or -1 slot per port per hour).

8.New Rare voodoo card ( viewtopic.php?f=16&t=265&p=1807#p1807 )
Name: Eyes Everywhere (Name under discussion)
Target Type: Fleet
Rarity: Rare
Turns Needed: 5
Description:
Card ability: Piercing
Add +18 danger to target fleet

Possible further voodoo implementations (will be finalized in the next few days):
-Fog Bank ( viewtopic.php?f=16&t=264&p=1773#p1773 )
-Weather Gage ( viewtopic.php?f=16&t=263&p=1774#p1774 )
-Salvage ( viewtopic.php?f=16&t=267&p=1775#p1775 )

Add Piercing ability ( viewtopic.php?f=16&t=302 ) to existing cards:
-Expensive Tools
-Human Rights
-Spy Network
-Trade Master
-Terrorize

We also are in need of more voodoo curses ideas that will affect fleet battles. Given the fact that the greater plans for ship combat are unfinalized and are expected to take a long time before implemented, we are in need of voodoo curses. These may only be used temporarily till the greater plans are implemented.

Finally, we are also in need of ideas that will earn more free voodoo curses for all players. Ideas similar to the Daughter feature is the center of our attention.

Enough time has passed since the declaration; about 35 days. This is more than enough time for everyone to adapt to these changes. We will be implementing these within the next 10 days starting from Monday. So this is the last call to do whatever you think best to adapt to the new implementations.

For the new port control with ranks an option for a king to recruit an army from the people in the ports that gets paid from taxes. This army can invade other ports if winning taking out the army or militia at that port, take goods or lower production. The taken goods are sold at that armies home port to raise their nations money. On the case that they lose the force is lost with maybe 20% troop return. Money from taxes could also be used to build forts to protect the port from invasion. This can come in a later update because I am really excited for this one already and do not want to hold it back for the rest of us. :D

This change will make this card the best in the game. I now have no possible voodoo defence against stronger players since the few cards that I use sparingly can now be targeted and lost.

This would be most useful against players with a small voodoo inventory, and alot of players in my league have 20+ of this card
What is the point of this?

Could it be that we need a limit to the number of ports a single player can control?

That can be happen but then everybody will try to gather their influence on these ports and try to take control of selected ports to control.
