[Implemented] New way for Trade Reports

As the game grows bigger, the current method of trade report becomes problematic;

-Big players need to wait for a long time for the report to generate
-Server receives extra constrain
-The initial purpose is lost.

Therefore we have though of another way which will be more readable, easier on the server, will allow extra space for the future game growth and will be generated instantly.

Currently, we list todays amount of resources sold and bought by port or overall. I think that the current system usage is to read today's overall profit and yesterday. It is hardly used for other purposes.

Therefore we have thought of this new way: Make fleets count profit. In detail, a fleet will gather the following information:
-Count today's sales
-Count today's purchases
-Todays profit
-Yesterdays Profit
-2 days ago profit
-Lifetime Profit

This way it will be possible to show the overall profit in the depth of 3 days, as well as the overall profit from trading. For a particular fleet or all fleets.

What we will lose will be the port specific information. This will be the expense of the proposed new way.

I am awaiting your feedback, mainly on what you currently use of the existing trade report system as well as if the proposed way will serve you better or not.

This sounds perfect! For the general trade report either takes forever to display or times out after 60 seconds. I would much rather see the profit by fleet rather than by which good is being sold. As long as I can still look up the total profit and crates bout/sold for the day - then I see nothing bad about this proposed report system.

This would be an excellent way to test out new trade routes and compare ship types and loadouts! I could compare the performance of my trade galleon fleets to my Large Merchantman fleets over the last 3 days and make an informed decision on how to build my fleets better! If you have one number (profit per day) then you can have easy conversations with other captains about where the good trading is.

"-Lifetime Profit" Now THAT would be interesting! Another thing to brag about: who has the world's most profitable trade fleet :P

I use the general trade report to indicate when I am trading the best I can. I know how much I can make on a good day and when I see a number for yesterday's trading that is significantly lower, then I check on port prices and maybe use fertile lands accordingly. Also I can easily see how much East/West India Trading company can give me by looking up the Total Crates Bought and Sold.

I'm glad you like the idea. We will get right on to it I guess.

The final idea has been shaped and we are currently on final stages of implementation. Soon we will install the final bits and all players will get immediate access to it. Both systems will run for a few days and eventually current market reports will become obsolete.

The final functionality will be as follows:
-Each fleet records profit for goods it buys and sells. We keep records for today, yesterday, 2 days ago and overall performance.

The same happens with warehouses. If you buy 4000 wood and store to a warehouse and not to a ship, this expense will be recorded in port warehouse entry. The same will happen if you sell. Futurely, if it is deemed important, we could add an automatic combine of Port trade routes & port warehouses.

With this kind of implementation, the only thing lost from previous way is the amount of resources. However this way is deemed way more handy, ultra-fast and light for the server while it adds some things that previous setup did not include.

New system is now in effect.
In 3 days it will be the only one running.

Check it for any probable bugs.

You can check it from 3 possible places:
A)From the screen of each fleet you own - A table appears at the right hand menu informing you of the particulars fleet stats.
B)From the Warehouse page - At market page click on Warehouse. The stats of this warehouse appear.
C)From treasury - Click on you gold count, Then click on General Trade Report (New!) to see your overall stats.

Future ideas:

-Sort fleets by profit (so you can easily find best/worst performing fleets)
-Sort ports by warehouse profit
-Sort ports by combined profit (fleets on route at current port right now + warehouses, suitable to see which trade routes are the most profitable even if you choose to stock-sell later)
-Global entry to demographics of most profitable fleet

correct me if im wrong but to unload resources that is not on auto-trade you have to do it each ship right?

i think you should make a quicker and simpler way to unload all resources of that fleet in one go rather than doing each ship to save time.

This already exists.

On market page click on Sell from Ships, then select "Sell ALL cargo from ALL port ships" and click Unload

i think its the unload all ships to warehouse thing. .you do have to unload it manually ship by ship once u have terminated the trade route
