Everything seems fine and Dandy to me!

This is a great Idea, because the point of the game is to wipe out other players...this will allow already overly powerful pirates to completely wipe out the players they target.

Did you feel the playing field tilt even more in the direction of the pirates?

I'm still anticipating the tax on all non pirates that will be paid out to anyone under the black flag...Weeeee!

Well, I believe it will take more than the Blacklist curse card to wipe out the traders and merchants of Avonmora.

At one time, warehouses were used to store tools - when attacked and the treasury got low, a bloke sold enough tools to keep from losing ships. A bit cumbersome and less convenient than a bank, but it worked. Some used docked howkers for the same role. Sell a level 10 howker could add about 250,000 coin to the treasury, and neither strategy cost turns to make it happen.

Buried treasure has been used for the same purpose. Now with gold bars, the warehouse gambit for defense will work even better.

Seems to me that if a trader prepares a bit, he can negate a Blacklist curse without using voodoo or turns. Of course, the Serenity and Purify curses will also nullify the Blacklist Curse.

I think it will be interesting to see other uses that the curse inspires beyond simply raiding trade and fishing fleets....

Nay, even with the Blacklist Curse, the pirates still need a few more tools to make their means of enterprise comparable to tools available to the nations player. As for totally wiping out players, most of the time, it has been a nation that does that, not those flying the Jolly Roger - the blokes flying a pirate flag have other motivations for raiding than those with national interests.... but that's a post for another forum topic.

We do not want to prevent traders from defending. We want to add further value to the treasure burial option and gold bars stocks. But mainly we do want to allow the attackers to have some hope to catch someone unprepared too.

With the introduction of ships market, where players will be able to rebuild their entire fleet just with gold coins, we can introduce more weapons for warfare.

Now being able to use this I have come up with a few tricks to it , and what not ; To be able to see its base Value... In my honest opinion we need more cards like this in the game... Not just against Merchants, but against Pirates ; Perhaps a Voodoo that targets a specific fleet of the ship owner, not allowing him to use that Fleet for X amount of hours? Where X is the number of turns? How this would be effective, the player would have less then 10 ships... This way, you can put a Pirate out of commission quite easily with a few cards, of course...
