[Now possible] Guilds Treasury Ability

Postby Stan Rogers » Mon Feb 16, 2015 1:06 am

Many many times I have wished the guild had a treasury.

Nothing like the National Treasuries but merely a place to deposit "Found GC" such as inactive account ships, members who want to donate and perhaps a small tax on battle winnings but that is only examples of such a treasury could be funded.

. A Guild treasury could provide funds for new members to get a stronger start relieving the expense on senior members.
Its uses could be limited to the guilds imagination and how it gets its funding.

Stupid Idea or worth discussing ?

It's a great idea! We could also collect some sort of membership fee along with the other proposals.

This would a few upsides and downsides...
Upsides
-Instead of buried treasure just put it in the guild reserves...
- A sturdy way to bring gold coins into what you are planing

Downsides
- Would anybody be able to draw out, for example say i am a trader with 25 power, would i be able just to pinch it and run, or would it run through a vote?
- Spys inside guilds draw it out.

All together i like the idea Stan +1

I like it. Also it should be like a building like hideout. Then with the upcoming foot battle feature, we should be able to plunder a guild's treasury. That would be awesome ! We can add protective features to the treasury also.

I like the way you think :)

this does kinda tie-in with point 4 in the other thread on guild bonuses : the first 'wonder' the guild can aim for is a 'Treasure-House' : keep it simple but maybe limited in capacity, thus the growing guild must enlarge it to add more security/capacity, but not out of the reach of smaller guilds.

At a later stage, perhaps. I do not think it is as important now. One of the things that bothers me is that "Send payment" options are "too easy".

If a treasury was tied into whoever the guildmaster designate's via the guild management options, and the GC came from the players themselves, through membership, plunder taxes, plunder insurance premiums, reclaimed dead accounts or straight up donations from members.
This treasury could fund new player support, incentive bonuses, rewards on 'Wanted' player strikes, hired proxy fighters or Mercenaries. Larger the guild= larger the treasury income and more abilities for rewards and incentives.

Plunder tax could be variable from 0 to a number. This could spark competition between guilds to compete for the new player base by offering discounts, sign-up bonuses, low tax rates etc. Many of these things, given the mechanism to operate, will develop within a guild and no two guilds would have the same set of hard rules other than the fact they have a treasury and they can control it.

I really have not given much thought to how something like this could be abused but I am sure more devious minds than mine could come up with a few ways.

Captain Jack that would give a better roll at gold coins.. Will give the advantage to guilds to reqruite more members and help them grow... so why let it for later?
