Ahoy, Mateys! Welcome to 8th Edition of the Pirates Glory Fantasy Draft. Due to circumstances in Real Life, the original host (Clockwork) is unable to host this draft, but we want to give him thanks for the hard work and dedication he put forth to get this edition of the draft up and running.

Without further ado, I present the Captains (in official randomly generated order):

The Official Rules of the Draft:

A Total of 10 Rounds consisting of 9 normal rounds and 1 Rookies Only Round (Round 10)

Rounds 1-4 can only be picks of players who have not been selected in previous drafts 5 or more times.

Players selected must have been active in the past 14 days. Proof of activity must be apparent.

Bribing of fantasy draft votes is strictly prohibited. Making accounts to add votes into the fantasy draft is also strictly prohibited.

Active is defined as more than just logging in logging out. Real activity in plunder/skirmishes and active routes must be oblivious.

An eligible player must be running at least 10 ships. Special exceptions are made to those who run less, as long as they are not a witch doctor.

A player who is a witch doctor or consistently uses a griefing playstyle is ineligible for draft selection. A witch doctor, in general, is someone who runs little to no ships, casts only offensive voodoo, and makes no attempt to gain profit from the casting of said voodoo. Not all players who fall within the general definition of a witch doctor are actually witch doctors.

A determination will be made by the community administration, upon request of a Team Captain, if a selected player is ineligible.

Anyone, who is picked on a draft team, who is caught accepting bribes for votes, shall lead to the removal of either: the team for the draft, or the player from said team. Said player will not receive payouts or donations. If a team is ended up removed from the draft, prizes will be redistributed evenly across the remaining teams.

Rookie ID’s are those joined between day 2753 and 3003.

This will be a SERPENTINE DRAFT. Meaning, 1 goes first through 5, but then 5 picks again and goes back to 1 then 1 picks again and goes back to 5. (1,2,3,4,5,5,4,3,2,1,1,2,3,4,5,5,4,3,2,1...)

An updated Team Listing will be provided upon completion of each round.

Upon completion of the draft picks, the captains will be required to write a BLURB about their team to be posted in the Voting Topic.

To alleviate any confusion and interpretation of the rules, Danik is explicitly excluded from being selected in this draft at the request of Danik.

Draft Goal/Theme:

Unlike most previous drafts where the goal was to create the best overall team, this draft the Captains are asked to create the best team for Port Takeover and Control.

If I missed anything, I apologize.

As Banger is the first captain in draft order, please make your first pick upon server update.

Well, these rules definitely are going to make things interesting but I feel like they did leave some room for a sneaky pick here.

With the first pick, I am going to pick a vicious player that crossing him will only end up with your ships either stolen or at the bottom of the sea. He led the USA to greatness. If he is on your side, he is loyal to no end.

As far as the theme, I feel like he would be one of the best for port takeover and control. He has deep pockets and a voodoo chest not to be crossed.

My pick is xPROx.

At the end of a long day hunting for pirates along the coast of St. Martins, we sail back into port. As my fleets dock and the crew unloads todays' spoils into my warehouse, a wee lad approaches us. The young urchin informs me and my quartermaster of Bangers first pick......xPROx.

"Not bad."

After a few hours of carousing around St. Martins, chatting up barmaids and gallivanting with locals, we set sail to Aiora. Two days later we finally arrive, disembark in port and head towards a massive mansion with me crew.

Who have I come to visit?

An old friend with immense wealth and an inexhaustible voodoo chest. A formidable captain who can hold his ground against the most Herculean forces.

My pick is Kangaroo.

Well... Seeing that xPro and Kangaroo a now gone from the shelves, it's time for some accounting to be done.
I am sure we all know this guy; The Accountant (#68285).

Either saw him chilling at the gossip pages, or his cannons found his way to your boats.
I reason this pick due to his arsenal of dad jokes (trust me, they're better than your dads), and he's a reliable, skillful captain with a good chest, even more knowledge - and I never found the bottom of his pockets, taking his gold in my early days... Woops.

Old mentor, and now the one keeping me out of trouble.

well to start things someone who is always around with a nice chest and a voodoo fiend, you will never know what their up to until it's too late. Caladan

For my first pick I choose Lolita X, a good friend who has stuck with me since I joined SHIELD and helped me get my guild GUARD (The Guardians) up and running and was a great help in getting Australia strong enough to be able to hold a few ports for a short while.

For my second pick I choose The Argonaut who has been in 2 fantasy drafts and has the most piratey profile description

Next up a proven loyal defender of Nation and guild, an active privateer JB Duke

So it seems we had a few hiccups on the first round. All is good and we are moving forward.

Well, this might seem a bit guild biased, but my second pick will be... El Draque!
He's a trader - and a fat one at that, governor of Tokelau, after first putting Kiribati on the map, along with with a few others.
He's rich, and his port side voodoo chest is solid as well.
Strong, rich, fat and solid in the port mechanics...

Oh, his jokes are a nice backup for TA's as well...
