CTC became ATC. The name Avonmora didn't exist yet so they were called the Caribbean Trading Co. When the world name was changed to Avonmora, so did their guild name.

Hang on, that's not what happened.
John Rackham decided he would take a break from leading a guild so he entirely disbanded CTC. Sir Henry Morgan created RUM soon after and took with him some active members of CTC. Other active members joined other guilds.

Actually, this seems to be imitating actual history rather well... Why should Avonmora history be any more acurate than "actual" history? It all depends upon the historian.
